Don’t Count Out Donald Trump Yet

Screen Shot 2016-06-28 at 10.05.56 AM

To make things even worse, we often outright mock anyone who can’t keep up, or doesn’t fit in with the new order. We call them dumb. Idiots. Religious freaks. Rednecks. Thugs. Hoodlums. Ghetto trash. White trash.

The language we use to talk about those who have been left behind is rife with nasty attempts to turn them into lesser humans. We use the tactics of racism, and apply it to economic losers.

If you hate racism, then you really really really should hate any economic and social system that creates and rewards massive inequality. Because when you get that. You get racism.

And that is the system we have built and now have. That is the system that most everyone screaming about the dumb racists is part of, usually supports, and wins from.

– From the post: Thoughts on Brexit from Someone Who Spends Time in the “Forgotten Places”

In order to prevent people from mischaracterizing my point of view, I want to once again make something completely clear. I do not support Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, and will not be voting for either in 2016. My intent had been to once again vote for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, but recent comments to Politico about how he would support the TPP have prompted me to pull back. I don’t know if there’s anyone I can vote for in November. Nevertheless, the purpose of this article is to provide some political analysis for those interested in that sort of thing.

Trump experienced a horrible period from mid-May to mid-June, which culminated in the dismissal of campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. Based on my Twitter feed, Trump is finished. I’ve been incessantly bombarded with articles highlighting an ever widening lead for Hillary Clinton nationally in the polls. So is Trump finished? Not by a long shot.

Trump Appeals to Sanders Supporters and Lands First Real Punch Against Clinton

Screen Shot 2016-06-22 at 10.48.21 AM

Donald Trump has been running around like a total clown over the past month or so. Meeting with war criminal Henry Kissinger, vowing to debate Bernie Sanders in California and then running away like a scared child…his damaging month ultimately culminated in a mindless attack against a federal judge based on his ethnicity. The past four weeks have represented a series of foolish missteps that hurt his campaign greatly.

Fortunately for him, it’s still very early days, and he happens to be running against one of the least liked, most corrupt human beings to ever creep around planet earth. It seems someone finally talked some sense into him, as his speech today was powerful and effective. He finally landed punches all over Hillary Clinton, while at the same time appealing to disenfranchised Bernie Sanders supporters.

Here are a few examples, courtesy of Politico:

Sanders Supporters Plan World’s Largest “Fart-In” During Hillary Clinton’s Acceptance Speech

Screen Shot 2016-04-01 at 3.34.42 PM

“Trump says very scary things — deporting immigrants, massive militarism and ignoring the climate. Well, Hillary, unfortunately, has a track record for doing all of those things,” she added.

Clinton boasted at a town hall in New Hampshire in November 2015 that, as a senator, she had voted for 2006 legislation that authorized the building of roughly 650 miles of wall on the border.

“So we see these draconian things that Donald Trump is talking about, we actually see Hillary Clinton doing,” she added.

– From the post: Jill Stein of the Green Party – Clinton Helped Create Trump

As the days and weeks go by, it has become increasingly apparent that many Bernie Sanders supporters will simply never, ever endorse or vote for Hillary Clinton. If anything, the coronation of Hillary was so replete with scheming and dirty tricks, more than a few Bernie supporters who may have been open to a Clinton candidacy a few months ago, now consider themselves diehard Bernie or Busters.

Of course, this is a very good thing. The Democratic Party is clearly too corrupt and beholden to oligarch interests to ever represent the needs of the citizenry. The sooner people recognize this reality and accept it, the better.

In any event, some of these #NeverHillary folks are planning a lighthearted protest at the Democratic convention in July in the form of the world’s largest “fart-in.” No this is not a joke — heavyweights such as Chris Hedges will be intimately involved in the festivities.

Just How Shady is Hillary Clinton? This Shady…

Screen Shot 2016-06-02 at 3.47.03 PM

The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails.

– Bernie Sanders, during the October 13, 2015 Democratic debate

Boy was Bernie Sanders wrong about that. It turns out the Hillary Clinton email scandal is way more damaging and dishonest than even her harshest critics could have imagined.

I’m sure that by now most of you are intimately aware of the scathing report issued by the State Department inspector general regarding Hillary Clinton’s unconscionable use of a private server for all her official government emails. It’s now clear that this was no honest mistake, but rather a deliberate attempt to shield her correspondence from the American people.

Judge Andrew Napolitano has penned a must read piece about the whole affair at Reason titled, Inspector General’s Report Refutes All of Hillary Clinton’s Defenses For Using Private Email Server. Here are a few choice excerpts:

Trump’s Decision to Debate Sanders in California is His Most Genius Move Yet

Screen Shot 2016-05-26 at 2.01.08 PM

Here, a Clinton match-up is highly likely to be an unmitigated electoral disaster, whereas a Sanders candidacy stands a far better chance. Every one of Clinton’s (considerable) weaknesses plays to every one of Trump’s strengths, whereas every one of Trump’s (few) weaknesses plays to every one of Sanders’s strengths. From a purely pragmatic standpoint, running Clinton against Trump is a disastrous, suicidal proposition.

– From the February article: Why Hillary Clinton Cannot Beat Donald Trump

If the Trump/Sanders debate proceeds as planned in California, you’re about to witness one of the most important moments of a 2016 general election that hasn’t even begun yet. To say such a debate would be an unmitigated disaster for Hillary Clinton would be the understatement of the century. Let’s explore why.

First of all, Hillary Clinton outright rejected a debate request from Bernie Sanders ahead of the June 7th California primary. Given Sanders’ recent momentum, as well as her need to persuade a significant number of his supporters to back her in November; such a denial was not only arrogant, it was highly insulting to voters in America’s largest state. From team Clinton’s perspective there was little upside to agreeing to a debate, versus easily manageable downside from a few days of negative media coverage. Or so they thought…

Another Brilliant Analysis on Why Trump Will Beat Clinton

Screen Shot 2016-05-24 at 10.10.35 AM
A Clinton match-up is highly likely to be an unmitigated electoral disaster, whereas a Sanders candidacy stands a far better chance.

– From February’s post: Why Hillary Clinton Cannot Beat Donald Trump

The best “why Hillary Clinton can’t beat Donald Trump” articles tend to be written by liberal-leaning Bernie Sanders supporters. These people can’t stand Trump, yet find it impossible to ignore the obvious flaws and rampant cronyism inherent in Her Majesty. This dislike of both frees such thinkers from distracting bias and provides for refreshing analysis and a unique perspective on 2016.

The latest example of such commentary comes courtesy of author Anis Shivani, writing at Salon. The piece is titled, Donald Trump is Going to Win: This is Why Hillary Clinton Can’t Defeat What Trump Represents, and it explores a less discussed angle of the psychic differences between the two candidates in the eyes of voters. I found the opening paragraphs of the piece to be the most interesting:

The neofascist reaction, the force behind Trump, has come about because of the extreme disembeddedness of the economy from social relations. The neoliberal economy has become pure abstraction; as has the market, as has the state, there is no reality to any of these things the way we have classically understood them. Americans, like people everywhere rising up against neoliberal globalization (in Britain, for example, this takes the form of Brexit, or exit from the European Union), want a return of social relations, or embeddedness, to the economy.

Trump vs. Clinton – Two Tweets That Say It All

Screen Shot 2016-02-25 at 10.00.07 AM

So the Democrats in all their idiocy are about to nominate Hillary Clinton, which all but guarantees a Trump Presidency.

I came across two tweets today that summarize the mood perfectly. If you think Trump is going to destroy the GOP, Hillary is just as likely to destroy the Democratic Party by losing to Trump. Enjoy:
