America Has Become a Total Joke

I’ve stopped calling what our government has done a cover-up. Cover-up suggests a passive activity. What they’re doing now I call aggressive deception.

– Former Senator Bob Graham, co-chair of Congress’s 9/11 Joint Inquiry

This country is becoming a total joke and it’s not merely because of Donald Trump. While he’s certainly becoming a key player in our national embarrassment, this country’s decent into a reckless Banana Republic has been a long time coming.

Let’s take stock of where things stand in mid-2017. Our opposition Democratic Party (Hillary in a leather jacket yelling about Russia) is a joke. Our corporate media is a joke. Our foreign policy is a joke. Our economy is a joke. Our justice system is a joke. It’s all a joke, and it might even be somewhat humorous if it wasn’t so incredibly dangerous.

Today’s post will focus on Trump’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, a revolting spectacle which I could barely bring myself to follow. It all started Saturday morning as I tried to enjoy a beautiful day with my growing family and parents who were in town for a visit. My day was more or less ruined upon witnessing the appalling scene of Trump and his top advisors dancing with the rulers of the terrorist sponsoring state of Saudi Arabia while clutching swords. I’m sorry for doing this to you, but in case you missed it.

Then there was the speech. It was an inspiring display of soaring oratory if empty platitudes and belligerent neocon foreign policy is your thing. On various occasions Mr. Trump alluded to the fact that the U.S.-Saudi alliance was a “partnership based on shared interests and values.” Which got me thinking…which of the following was he referring to exactly.

Or perhaps it’s just a partnership based on oil and imperial ambitions. Nah, don’t be a conspiracy theorist.

It’s remarkable the transformation Trump’s undergone since winning the Presidency. You know, kind of like what happened to Mr. “Hope and Change” after he won. Funny things tend to happen to people once they capture the throne.

That said, Trump’s transformation has been particularly brazen (and public), which has led many of us to wonder what happened to this guy…

Turns out daddy’s money still works after all, with Trump happily groveling for more during his trip. For example, just before he mentioned the recent Saudi arms deal in his speech, Trump introduced it by saying he has “even more blessed news” to share. Not a joke.

Who will actually benefit from all this “blessed news”? We get a hint from CNBC‘s headline this morning.

Specifically:

Defense stocks took off on Monday after President Donald Trump signed a nearly $110 billion weapons deal with Saudi Arabia. The deal will be worth $350 billion over 10 years.

Shortly after market open, Lockheed Martin was up about 2 percent, Raytheon was up more than 1.4 percent, Northrop Grumman climbed 1 percent and General Dynamics was up about half a percent. All four stocks reached new highs.

It seems arming the Saudis to unleash further horror and humanitarian suffering in neighboring Yemen (and throughout the region), is very good for business.

Blessed are the arm dealers, for they shall inherit the earth.

Meanwhile, Trump ended his Saudi speech by blasting Iran for its terrorism. I suppose somebody forgot to show him the following graphic showing country of origin for terrorist attacks on American soil.

The 28-Pages Are Way Worse Than I Thought

While the above is cringeworthy enough, perhaps the most grotesque, ignorant and disturbing part of the visit came to us via comments from billionaire financier and current Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. In a CNBC interview earlier today he was downright jubilant when describing the fact there were no protesters in Saudi Arabia to disrupt the adults present while they plotted their next moves of regional domination as they cuddled glowing orbs. He was also downright mesmerized by a couple of bags of dates given to him by Saudi security.

From MarketWatch:

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said Monday he was heartened by the absence of even a single protester during President Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia over the weekend.

Ross noted:

I think the other thing that was fascinating to me, there was not a single hint of a protestor anywhere there during the whole time we were there, not one guy with a bad placard.

CNBC anchor Becky Quick attempted to point out that Saudi Arabia bans all political protests, but Ross did not let that spoil his good mood.

“In theory that could be true. But, boy, there was certainly no sign of it, there was not a single effort at any incursion. There wasn’t anything. The mood was a genuinely good mood. And at the end of the trip, as I was getting back on the plane, the security guards from the Saudi side who’d been helping us over the weekend all wanted to pose for a big photo-op. And then they gave me two gigantic bushels of dates, as a present, as a thank you for the trip that we had had. That was a pretty from-the-heart, very genuine gesture. It really touched me.”

Translation: Why can’t we do the same thing in America.

Indeed, I’m sure a few ceremonial mass beheadings here at home will certianly improve the national mood.

In theory.

Meanwhile, I’ll just leave this right here.

America is already a Banana Republic and it’s only going to get worse.

  1. It get’s more Orwellian by the day. We invade, overthrow, sanction and sometimes even support governments sponsoring terrorists in the middle east, planting and nurturing the seeds of terrorists. Then Trump goes over there to scold them they aren’t doing enough to fight terrorists.

  2. Let’s see if I’ve got this right now. We are providing a country that is on the verge of a revolution because they very shortly can no longer pay off the the radicals faction in their midst with free everything, a hundred and ten BILLION dollars in arms. And those arms, when Saudi Arabia can no longer afford to pay off those citizens will no doubt, in my mind, be used by the radicals to over throw the government, eliminate Israel and send the entire middle east down to the third circle of Hell. Is that what we just did?

    • Don’t worry about the “eliminate Israel” part–won’t happen. Never. Ever. I’m so confident of that I’ll wager my life on it. As for the rest–could very well happen.

  3. The Sauds wouldn’t dare even attempt to reek the havoc they do in other nations if it weren’t for American backing, especially and including the 9/11/2001 event to which both were parties. It is my estimate that by the time the next presidential election cycle ends in 2024 American civil society will be in lock down mode unless an unforeseeable black swan event shatters the socio-political landscape for the better, that is rather than the instigation of the much much worse. One wonders when some real grass roots freedom fighters will give them even just a taste of their own medicine?

Myself I keep on trying to blot this all out to regain a sense of the old normalcy to life or in finding how to do that. The Red Pill once taken means no going back it seems…..

  4. David, the one thing that can eliminate the current version of Israel is the huge amount of disaffected Israeli’s who have had enough of the Oligarch families there that control 90% of the wealth.

That will eventually be Israel’s downfall.

In the meantime, what the hell is up with the glowing orb?!

    • Genaro,

The orb is glowing with the captured life force of all the people the SaudiINC. and USGINC. have killed for fun and profit!

They’ll be more of that “juice” when this govt. cuts food stamps and “entitlements” so as to help the poor war contractors and bankers survive. Trump has his priorities in order, that’s clear to see.

      We are all very blessed.

  5. What a f#cking circus this has become. All we can do now is make war, sell arms and operate casinos, your right, what a joke!

    • Black Cat,

I feel a lot of sadness about everything. Where I used to live it has been found that, just like Flint, the water is contaminated with lead. Why couldn’t money be allocated to replace the pipes? People would have jobs which they desperately need and it would be an honor to create safe drinking water for one’s fellow citizens. People would feel good about what they were doing and further, they would be doing good.

We could put up regional grids based off alternative energy, do environmental cleanup, take care of anyone who needed help, etc. Instead, our “leaders” increase funding for war, mass surveillance and a police state while funneling money to the old, dirty energy companies and war/police state/banking state entities.

I ask myself who would want this kind of legacy for their life’s work? Why would any person desire this for themselves? It’s really possible to make a lot of money and have a lot of power while doing actions of value in the world. I simply have no answer. I don’t know what happened to these people that their souls, minds and hearts have no focus other than to do harm. That’s such a terrible way to live, wreaking havoc on others and the earth. Why would a person choose this. I just don’t know.

    • Jill,
I ask that same question every day. It makes me sad as well. It just doesn’t have to be this way and still no reason why.

    • Thanks Steve. A very illuminating interview. That highlights how the MSM has demonized Duterte per their marching orders from the shadow government.

I have little doubt that he is very high on the CIA/NSA hit list.

quit trying to blame anyone and everyone else apart from yourselves for 9/11.

building 7 is a perfect example of controlled demolition. the only way for that building to be wired for demolition on 9/11 was by USA agents.

an inside job, false flag. deal with it.

  7. Several commenters here have questioned why it has to be this way or why a more humanitarian approach is not taken? There are a number of answers that point to this why?

First the rise of neo-liberal economic mantra wherein maximum profit at the bottom line comes before any philanthropic thoughts unless they add to the bottom line, like by being tax deductible if taxes are unavoidable.

Secondly, the western plutocrats have an agenda that they are pursuing on many fronts and levels simultaneously and their biggest opponent are those democracy loving populations within their own bailiwick who must be brought along to accept the NWO under a multitude of endeavors such as COP2-2030 and continuous false flag terrorist attacks directed at the people to result in the desired effect. These western plutocrats are also seeking to first among world elite equals to describe western foreign affairs efforts of both the covert and overt methods of hybrid warfare.

But primarily the western plutocrats, headed by the financial elites and their entourage of multinational corporations, trusts and foundations “seek to inventory and control: all finances (especially a ‘cashless society’), land, water, plants, animals, minerals, energies, means of production, construction, transportation, information, education, human habitation and all humans on this planet. Have I left anything out?” – Rosa Koire. Each item listed is a front to act upon by the western plutocrats with levels of actions taking place within each front on a creative destruction model, or from chaos, order, all taking place from the United Nations to your local planning department’s guidelines and to the curriculum your children study at school. I could go on but I think we get the picture of the transformation being instigated by those with the omnipotent power to create as much money as they wish and to issue credit to whom they wish

    • Thanks BRF,
I appreciate your comments and agree with much of it except I believe your comments are more in line with how the globalist are doing what their doing rather than why. I too have spent the better part of 15 years understanding the how’s and there effects, but the actual causes, the actual roots of the problem are very complex and difficult to pinpoint. Thank you though for your opinion and time and maybe we can have that discussion here on L.B.

  8. Not sure if this is relevant to this, but I want to tell you about someone I met at a cemetery this weekend. I met a father whose son died in combat in Afghanistan. He is a life-long Republican that voted for Obama to get us out of the wars. Then there is me who normally does not vote for a major party that voted for Trump to get us out of wars. We do .not know what we can do to stop this.

  9. Another broken promise by our narcissistic in chief…..Thursday’s announcement that the State Department is lifting the limit on the number of refugees that can come into the US. Nice going Mr. Vetter in Chief. Do you even know about this, or were you too busy watching Fox News and whining about how nobody likes you.
