Donald Trump is in Trouble

*Note: Since this post was published, some material information has hit in the form of a massive, meaningful data-dump from Wikileaks. I have read through some of it, and it is unquestionably damaging to Hillary Clinton.

When I originally wrote the post below, I was working under the assumption that this would be the big political news story over the weekend, and all anyone would be talking about for at least the next two days and into the debate. With the Wikileaks dump we have another huge story, and it will undoubtably lessen the negative impact from the Trump audio. Trump got very lucky. I’ll have more over the weekend once I’ve had some time to read through more of the Wikileaks information and gather my thoughts.

Below is the original Trump post, published before I became aware of the Wikileaks release.

The just released audio of Trump’s comments from 2005 is devastating for his Presidential chances. This is not to say I think the election’s over, but I see this as the most damaging thing to emerge against him since he started his primary run last year.

It can’t be brushed off as political rhetoric to win the Republican primary, and some of the things he said will be deeply disturbing to many Americans.

While everyone thought the “October surprise” would be damaging to Clinton, the exact opposite seems to have happened. Unless someone has something equally devastating on the Clintons and is prepared to release it (not out of the question), Trump is in trouble.

Sunday’s debate now becomes do or die for him.

Trump’s response was pretty good, but unless he has audio of Bill on the golf course, probably not good enough.

“This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course — not even close,” Trump says in a statement. “I apologize if anyone was offended”

Michael Krieger

    • Don’t be ridiculous. I’d say 29 of my last 30 articles have been focused on Hillary and her corrupt sociopathy.

I’m just calling this as I see it. Feel free to disagree.

  1. 99.9% of REAL men wouldn’t even worry about what he said, this is how the average man talks like. To make anything out of this is being dishonest, like Mr Trump said, locker room banter.

    • If you think I’m “dishonest” why do you read me?

I go out of my way to be honest. Don’t get all mad just because you disagree.

Also, can you define what a “real man” is in your opinion?

  2. Wow, you can commit genocide in Libya, but don’t engage in locker room banter with another guy. Every guy I know says things in private they would not say in public about women. Get over it. This won’t hurt him.

  3. Look, the guy has 70 years under his belt. I couldn’t care less if he was illegally recorded talking about women and sex. I think he would be weird if he didn’t talk like that sometimes. Give me a break! All I care about is the fact that Obama and Clinton want to change the face of our country, by bringing in hundreds of thousands of people who have lived their whole lives under laws that are diametrically opposed to our rule of law, and have every intention of mooching off the public trough and overpopulating in order to pass sharia laws in the US! I want Trump! He is our LAST CHANCE for American freedom! That means freedom to SAY WHATEVER HE WANTS!

  4. PS The title “Donald Trump is in Trouble”, and the serious tone you went with, Michael Kreiger, belies your meager defense. “Devastating”? “The most damaging thing”? Why didn’t you write, “This will wash off Trump’s back like water off a duck”? or “Compared to 8 years of Bill Clinton, this is tame”? or “People who support Trump aren’t affected by 10 year old tapes, because they are more worried about Hillary importing terrorism”?
Grow up and take responsibility for your words. How much did you get paid for this hit piece, anyway?

    • Susan, calm down.

Paid for the piece? Now you are being extremely insulting, childish and making things up. Do you really need to invent stories to try to make your point?

I didn’t write what you wanted me to write because I don’t think that it is true. Do I think Bill Clinton is worse than Trump? I do. But this is a devastating audio recording.

It won’t affect his supporters, but it will influence undecided voters in my opinion.

Disagreement is fine, but if you make something up about me again without proof, you’ll be banned from commenting.

  5. The truth is that is the way guys used to talk about women “in the :locker room”: perfectly normal behavior These days the millennials don’t talk like this. They have been conditioned by years of feminist control of the education system. Some might say that they have been “pussyfied”. Maybe the millennials need to man up a bit with as little less locker room talk!

    • Bullshit. We millenials aren’t uptight about sex, we don’t need to brag (lie) about our conquests, cause who gives a toss unless you are a 15 year old virgin? I’ve made old fogies blush with my banter. I know your ilk is intellectually lazy as shit, but please take some goddam responsibility for your life instead of blaming every single problem on “these youngins nowadays”.

  6. Man, I truly do enjoy your blog, Michael, and between you the Corbett report I’m pretty much set. However, I just can’t understand all these hysterical Trump cocksuckers on your site. It seems to be (thankfully) free of Hillary lovers, but what is up? It’s like I can’t read anything anywhere without “them Mexicans r steeling our jobz” or “Trump is going to save our souls and make Christmas everyday”. Christ, does anyone think independently anymore? I’m all in for Jill Stein but you don’t see me whining about the lack of Green Party coverage.
As for the piece, I’ve said much worse and I don’t see it affecting anything. Trump could rape a baby onstage and his fans would say “that commie Muslim baby had it coming!”

I’m over the world right now.

  7. Mike, I think that the media’s general program of demonization applied to Trump will take most of the steam out of this story. It’s tough to pretend to be too shocked when you’ve called a guy a worse racist/biggot than Bull Connor and tried to twist every single sentence he’s spoken for a year now into some comic book villain sort of thing. He might be a bit crude in private! Um, so what at this point? I think you’d be really pressed to find any subset of voters whom this much affects. The pronoun obsessed feminist and ultra blue team types who will shriek the most about this were never going to vote for him anyway. Who didn’t already know that the guy is kind of a jerk personally? If this had been revealed about Bush in 2000 it would be a big deal.

    • Come on, Futuret. I once got a solicitation in the mail for something, maybe a credit card, from HSBC, a bank that was later found to have knowingly dealt with suspected terrorist front organizations. If I had taken out that credit card, I guess the headlines could blare “Quincyjwagstaff Did Business With Bank Later Linked to Terrorism!!”
