The 3 Best and Worst Moments of the Democratic Debate (From a Libertarian Standpoint)

If you’re like me, and a brief attempt to watch last night’s Democratic debate was thwarted in less than thirty minutes due to the relentless and unwatchable heaping pile of bullshit that it was, never fear. ReasonTV has complied the debate’s three best and worst moments.

Take a watch:

One of the most offensive lies told by Clinton seen in the video clip above relates to Edward Snowden. As Dan Froomkin at the Intercept notes:

Clinton’s comments on Snowden were flawed in more than one way. She also insisted, incorrectly, that he could have accomplished his goals by going through normal channels.

“He could have been a whistleblower. He could have gotten all of the protections of being a whistleblower. He could have raised all the issues that he has raised. And I think there would have been a positive response to that,” she said.

But Snowden, as a contractor, was not covered by whistleblower protections. He did try going through established channels, but he said his concerns fell on deaf ears.  And the response to his leaks has made abundantly clear that no one in his chain of command was the least bit interested in going public with the information.

She is a master deceiver.

  1. Is Bernie playing his supporters for fools? He’s playing nice which is commendable but a lot is at stake for those unhappy with status quo politics. Many of us will not be drawn into Clinton camp. I hope the next debate drives home why HE should be president, not her. If he can’t do that just drop out or support a 3rd party b/c this whole charade is unbearable.

  2. Mike again thanks for posting this. On this one CHAFEE had it right.

“COOPER: Governor Chafee, Edward Snowden, is he a traitor or a hero?

CHAFEE: No, I would bring him home. The courts have ruled that what he did—what he did was say the American…

COOPER: Bring him home, no jail time?

CHAFEE: … the American government was acting illegally. That’s what the federal courts have said; what Snowden did showed that the American government was acting illegally for the Fourth Amendment. So I would bring him home.”

My comment: If Snowden had the age and would have been on stage he would have been the obvious winner of the debate. Hillary is wrong on this one and she needs to get her head straight.

  3. Clinton needs to be in prison – period. She’s so corrupt on so many levels it turns my stomach to listen to her – especially that Wicked Witch cackle – eeesh…. Like Obomber, pretty much everything that comes out of her mouth is a lie.

  4. I couldn’t watch the debate either but found it odd that our local news immediately declared Clinton the winner. Turns out that 81% of viewers who could stomach the debates thought Sanders was the winner.
I can’t think of a single human I know who likes Clinton but she’s obviously the establishment choice. Put enough lipstick on the pig for plausible deniability when they Diebold their candidate into office. Then have us little folks getting angry at other stupid Americans for voting for her, especially after she launches the nukes…
