“Revolution is Coming” – The Top 20 Responses to Jon Hilsenrath’s Idiotic WSJ Article

By now, most of you have read Jon Hilsenrath’s mindless, tone-deaf, idiotic attempt at humor published by the Wall Street Journal yesterday. If not, here it is: A Letter to Stingy American Consumers.

What you may not have seen, are the 174 comments published in response to the article. At least 95% of them consist of justifiable crushing criticism toward the cluelessness of this Federal Reserve apparatchik masquerading as a journalist. While I am strongly against vigilante style violence as a solution to our societal problems, the incredibly frequent calls for him and other “elites” to be strung from lampposts is certainly notable. People are very angry, and this anger will explode at some point in a very nasty way unless the status quo is discarded.

Here are the top 20 comments from the post. In highlighting them, I am not endorsing any calls for violence:

With that out of the way, let’s not forget this post from last summer: The Pitchforks are Coming…– A Dire Warning from a Member of the 0.01%

The writing is clearly on the wall if you’re paying any attention.

The only question is: How long until the WSJ bans comments?

    Huh? WTF? “Most of you”?

I quit reading that propaganda sheet ages ago. Total waste of time.

  2. Those were great comments and it is refreshing to see such righteous indignation amongst the people. I hope this revolution brings a sharply focused mass of calm, organized, determined individuals whom have done there research of who is responsible for the state of the world and upon the round up of these guilty oligarchs , presented through the right of a fair trial under the re-established common law, the inexplicable proof of centuries of crimes against humanity that all guilty parties will be hung by the neck until dead!

  3. I find it stunning that the oligarchs and the elitists seem to think that they’re untouchable. That they can torch whole populations with all their criminality, yet walk down the street to their fav restaurant. It’s the most peculiar disconnect I’ve ever seen. Just saying that they might want to reconsider. If they bring the whole house down people will likely hunt them. They’ll have to live in a cave for the rest of their lives.

  4. In the early 80s a slim book of comparative prophecy came out titled Rolling Thunder: The Coming Earth Changes. I remember one native American prophecy very clearly because in reading it at the time, it seemed impossible.

It said that our world would be so damaged by the corruption of our leaders, that everywhere they would be hunted down like animals in the street.

Even after Watergate it just was too over the top…now, not so much. What we talked about theoretically as “revolution” in the 60s was play-acting compared to what is brewing now. This is the real thing; a fermenting of long held resentment against the patently obvious illegality and invulnerability to punishment that the elite class has enjoyed.

I doubt if one of them is reading this but on the off chance they are, a word to them: Believe it. It is coming as sure as night follows day. This is the real thing, seething anger based on the widely sensed understanding of just how lopsided the world has gotten in your favor.

It is going to be a hell of a wake up call. It has happened before with populations that were a whole lot less well armed than this one. You really should get out more.

  5. Our original American Revolution was sparked by an aristocracy favoring, what many believe, was the first corporation over our American small business owners just trying to make a buck selling tea.

It’s well past time Wall Street and the politicians they own start wearing their RedCoats. . .and for the rest of us to remember just what made us a self-ruling country in the first place.

  6. Add my vote for speedy trials before juries of (formerly) middle class peers, followed by the utilization of every lamppost between Wall Street and the District of Corruption.

  7. I READ THE ARTICLE QUICKLY . IT WAS NEITHER FUNNY EVEN BY CNBC LUNATIC RIGHT STANDARDS AND IT WAS INCOHERENT WRITING. ALSO IT REPEATED THE CNBC CANARD THAT THE HOUSING BUBBLE WAS ALL DUE TO DRUNKEN, IRRESPONSIBLE BORROWERS. THE HOUSING BUBBLE IS THE CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF A DERIVATIVE MOUNTAIN BUILT UPON A SMALL AND MANAGEABLE HILL. MR HILSENRATH WOULD DO WELL TO READ HL MENCKEN TO IMPROVE HIS SLOPPY ESSAY SKILLS.

  8. That article sounds to me more like Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal” than anything serious. That being said, serious writings by nut jobs often come across as farcical. Spend more? How are people supposed to spend more when they can barely make ends meet as it is? For a lot of people, there’s always month left over at the end of the money. Why? Because they’re earning minimum wage, and sometimes working two jobs because their selfish employers won’t let them work full time.

Jon Hilsenrath is as totally out of touch with reality as any patient in a wacky ward. Up there in his ivory tower, he can see only clouds and other ivory towers – not the struggles of the working class.

  9. It’s fun to rage against the banksters, except Obama’s stooges have publicly stated they will never, ever be prosecuted – and the AG is just as “forgiving” as the old one. A bankster could rape little children in the street and the Dept of Injustice would give them blanket immunity.
