Protecting and Serving – Florida Police Raid 90-Year-Old Woman’s Home; Find No Drugs but Wreck Home

Screen Shot 2015-02-18 at 11.57.01 AMI’ve taken some time off from covering excessive police violence and theft over the past few months after spending considerable energy on the topic in 2014. Nevertheless, the issue is of huge importance not only to the innocent people directly victimized by such behavior, but also to our society at large. I went into some of the reasons why this is the case recently in the post, Introducing “Physician Dispensing” – The Latest Troubling Medical Industry Scam. Here’s an excerpt:

The goal of the oligarchy is to corrupt as many useful idiots as possible, thus creating a culture of corruption so engrained it becomes virtually impossible to reverse. A great example of this relates to the plight of John Kiriakou, the only person imprisoned for CIA torture, because he was the one who blew the whistle on it. By creating these perverse incentives, you create a completely perverse society over time. The results are all around us.

Once the corruption reaches a certain level of societal saturation, you create a culture in which people simply stop trusting everyone and everything. For obvious reasons, this is a very dangerous development. There are people whom you need to trust for any civilization to function reasonably well. Police are one example…

Although there has been much outrage over the insane behavior of police departments across these United States, nothing seems to be changing for the better. The primary reason, similar to why bankers and oligarchs continue to thieve, is because there exists no accountability for the perpetrators.

The recent example of a “drug raid” against a 90-year-old Florida woman that found no drugs yet wrecked her home is a perfect case in point. CBS Miami reports that:

RIVIERA BEACH (CBSMiami) — A 90-year old’s home was destroyed by police conducting a raid but it appears they got the wrong house.

The elderly woman shared her story of terror and what police are doing to clean up the mess.

“I don’t know how the cops got in here. The noise woke me up when something said boom! Like a bomb or something,” said the 90-year old.

There was shattered glass, a busted door, and traces of a flash bang device.

“Cops standing over here talking about where’s the drugs? I said what? What drugs? Ain’t no drugs in here,” she said.

Police searched the home with drug sniffing dogs but came up empty-handed.

Riviera Beach Police said the search warrant was executed at the correct address and while the resident may not have had any knowledge of drugs being sold from her home, it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Huh, come again? They drug raided a 90-year-old woman’s home, found no drugs, yet claim it doesn’t mean the police were wrong. What planet do I live on?

I truly wish this was the only example of an violent raid on the wrong home in America that I came across today, but it’s not. Kansas Exposed reported the following:

This past Friday, February 6th, Wichita residents Taylor Tymony, 22, and Michael Kostelecky, 21, were surprised by Wichita police officers breaking their unlocked door down with a battering ram. The officers charged into the the home the men rent with a third man, Jake Houston, 20, with rifles drawn to serve a search warrant.

The officers had been conducting surveillance on the home, which is near Reflection Ridge, at 21st and Ridge in northwest Wichita. The officers repeatedly asked the men how they were able to pay the rent on such an expensive home.

What the officers did not realize is that Michael Kostelecky’s parents own the home, and that his parents are currently living in Costa Rica, renting the home to their son and two of his friends, Tymony and Houston, who both work for Hog Wild Pit BBQ.

After breaking down the unlocked door, stomping on two men’s necks, and thrashing everything in the two-story home, the officers came away with a single piece of a broken marijuana pipe, which had not been used for years.

Tymony had roughly $300 in his possession, which was from his paycheck from Hog Wild. No drugs, and no weapons were found in the home.

Here’s video testimony from the mother of one of the children:

Moving along, this post wouldn’t be complete without an example of a police department blatantly thieving from the public. This story does have a someone to celebrate though, whistleblower and ten-year veteran of the force, officer Joe St. Clair. The Free Thought Project reports the following:

St. Louis, MO — A former Bellefontaine Neighbors police officer has come out of the quota closet and is exposing the department’s highly unethical revenue collection scheme.

Ten-year veteran of the force, officer Joe St. Clair was ordered to carry out a policy that he says required cops to issue a certain number of traffic tickets, and even traffic arrests. If the cops failed to do it, they could be fired.

“I believe the chief put an illegal mandate on his officers. I think it’s unfair to the community,” St. Clair told KMOV.

This department focuses 75 percent of all of its time on the act of revenue collection. This ratio is particularly disturbing.

It means that only 25 percent of the time are they trying to solve murders, prevent crimes, and investigate thefts. But that’s probably too generous of a number as well. If you take into account the immoral War on Drugs; solving murders, preventing crimes and investigating thefts is probably only a tiny fraction of that 25 percent.

St. Clair tells KMOV that he was threatened with “disciplinary action” in September of 2013 after failing to meet the required minimum of 50 citations. The next month he made sure to meet the minimum.

“I wasn’t comfortable doing it, but I had to do it. I have a wife and two children I had to support,” said St. Clair.

Sadly, that’s how they get you.

KMOV reporter Craig Cheatham then went to the mayor’s office to have a talk with him. According to KMOV:

Bellefontaine Neighbors Mayor Robert Doerr repeatedly insisted the policy was legal and not a quota. He insisted the policy was needed because officers had been lazy and weren’t doing enough to protect the community. He claimed the policy was his idea.

It is no surprise that the mayor is behind the quota system. After all, he is likely one of the principal benefactors of the revenue generated through this unethical practice. The judges and prosecutors probably have their hand the extortion cookie jar as well.

In typical statist fashion, the mayor then told Cheatham that “if Joe St. Clair is going to drag us through the mud, then we’re going to drag him through the mud, too.”

Boss Hogg….ahem…..Mayor Doerr then forced the news crew to leave.

One thing we know for certain is that none of these officers will be held accountable. So the beat goes on. Pun intended.
