Here’s What Candidate Obama Said About Military Intervention in 2007

Q. In what circumstances, if any, would the president have constitutional authority to bomb Iran without seeking a use-of-force authorization from Congress? (Specifically, what about the strategic bombing of suspected nuclear sites — a situation that does not involve stopping an IMMINENT threat?)

Obama:  The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

– Interview with Charlie Savage, December 20, 2007 (full text here)

Ok, so Obama lied again…what’s new. Well what’s new is that launching missiles into Syria right now could lead to a much wider global conflagration, i.e. World War III. I don’t think anybody wants that. Or do they? It actually seems as if the sociopaths in charge of these United States DO want this, and therefore we must do everything we can to prevent it from happening.

Not only is it key to inform people how ridiculous it is to say a chemical weapons attack is a reason for war when the U.S. government itself aided Saddam Hussein in chemical warfare in the 1980’s, but we must also explain to people that use of force in Syria is entirely unconstitutional.

While candidate Obama clearly understood this, President Obama is suffering from another case of chronic constitutional amnesia, a condition he developed on or around January 19, 2009. This maniac, who we call President, is suddenly parading around like this war is his to start. As if he is some sort of Emperor. Well it is not, and he is not.

Somehow the Big O, our precious “constitutional scholar,” must have skipped over Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. If you need a reminder, here it goes:

U.S. Constitution – Article 1 Section 8

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;

To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures;

To provide for the punishment of counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States;

To establish post offices and post roads;

To promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries;

To constitute tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court;

To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of nations;

To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;

To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years;

To provide and maintain a navy;

To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces;

To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten miles square) as may, by cession of particular states, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government of the United States, and to exercise like authority over all places purchased by the consent of the legislature of the state in which the same shall be, for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings;–And

To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof.

Got that Barry? Go to Congress.

In Liberty,
Mike

  1. All the hack actors (That’s everyone) they parade on CNN is like one big 24/7 propaganda programming action to get the sheeple into loving, wanting needed mayhem. Its way worse than Orwell ever imagined. These people on TV are entirely insane.

    It’s a good article. Unfortunately, even if he went to congress, which he won’t because it’s a pain in the ass to lobby all of them to vote yes, they would probably vote for action. They voted for $250 million in “aid” to Al Qaeda in Syria so why not a few more missiles. That’s right, $250 million dollars direct from your fed. gov right to Al Qaeda to support them with weapons, ammo, all of it while their subordinates at Homeland Suppression, the TSA is looking in your pants for them. Total fucking Insanity.

    Don’t you just love how the white house knows without a doubt the Syrian gov. dropped chemical weapons without any investigation and magically gets their viewpoint paraded 24/7 on TV? Of course they are lying through their teeth. Biden, Kerry, Obaamaa, all of these criminal lying sociopaths. Fuck em all.

  2. Mikie,

    “the powers that be” have been under direct attack all summer…. there is the Snowden fiasco and the response by the people, the great majority of whom oppose government spying … and as implementing Obamacare approaches it is becoming more and more apparent that the program is going to cost everyone money, a lot of it …. and there is the collapse of the student loan bubble … and there is the talk about taper and about the budget and annual deficit and the debt ceiling, ALL slated to come before Congress in the next month … and there is the total collapse happening in India, and the radioactivity pouring into the Pacific from Fukushima, and rising interest rates and rising unemployment all over the world …

    so they desperately needed to create a distraction ….. please don’t lose sight of everything else thats going on ….

    • It puts them on record for starting WW3, and most of them do not want to be on record, because they are cowards.

  3. Good point. What better way to distract from the catastrophic economic problems US is facing and will face (will you do business in a country where you KNOW for FACT that ALL your conversations written or unritten are being recorded?)

  4. There are 2 realms of existences. One is absolute and real and the other transient and relative. Within Reality, sustenance is predicated upon selflessness whereas within Relativity, sustenance is predicated upon selfishness. The miracle then is that every human is The Epitome of Creation [via Evolution] because every human is innately imbued with ability to develop and sustain Conscience thereby being the one who is able to relinquish his selfishness for selflessness, Conscience being the state when there is zero Thought.

    Reality/Absoluteness is beyond humanity because it is Of Divinity [who has zero association with The Mesmeric Tentacle of The Bookie, Religion & Religiosity] whereas Relativity/Transience/Duality/Repetition/Addiction is all about the dual natured human posturing Humanity when Inhumanity, oka The Lack of Conscience, is the nature of his game. The Numbers Game within the Zero Sum Game.

    All for the sake of Popularity, oka Democracy, which is nothing but Demonocracy or Greed-Fear in practice which is why Inhumanity is not only a reality, it is the majority’s [covert-overt] choice in reality. This is due to the non-thinking human infant acquiring thoughts during his journey to “adulthood” [with most never exiting from their juvenile phase] thereby relinquishing his sense of absoluteness, oka The 6th Sense, for the 5 senses of malleability. That of being stamped with a price across the forehead thereby becoming the blind-blinded and calling that state of hindsight, insight and foresight. To gamble, guess, justify and more in the name of avoiding becoming a statistic. Afterall, when The Ending arrives and Others are being destroyed left, right and centre, avoiding becoming a statistic then is the only thing going. Just like when “War” is waged in “Syria” as the malevolents gloat, wine, dine and propagandise via their Middling Truth, the latter being The Truth which lacks a beginning and an ending. How statistically convenient.

    It is benevolent to finally realise/tangibilise that most “leaders” are either The Stone Dead or their fully mesmerised Tag-Alongs. No human would like to be seen dead reasoning with a wall and neither would reasoning with The Stone Dead be any different – until it is one’s turn to do so. After you then.
