Several weeks ago, in one of my weekly articles I mentioned the fact that a bill was recently passed that allocates $63 billion to the FAA to increase the existence of drones operating in U.S. airspace to 30,000 by the end of the decade. Well the Electronic Frontier Foundation is doing some great work on the matter and I suggest you take a look at this document they posted recently as well as spend some time on their website.
In this link the EFF provides a list of all FAA-issued approved, expired, and disapproved Certificates of Authorizations (COAs). These are issued to public entities like universities, state and local law enforcement agencies and the federal government.
This seems like an organization worth supporting. https://www.eff.org/
