Critical Thinking Has Never Been More Important

There are several reasons I spend so much time discussing and analyzing the current state of affairs. The primary motivation, aside from a drive to share personal opinions and spread awareness, is to encourage people to think critically. I don’t want readers to agree with everything I say, I want people to become inspired to think for themselves.

The ruling class doesn’t want you to think, they want you to simply accept the nonsensical stories they tell you. By contrast, I don’t want readers to blindly accept any of my conclusions, rather, I want my work be a case study on how to deploy independent logic and insight to a variety of topics and situations.

While I haven’t discussed the 2020 presidential campaign much here, I comment on it quite a bit over at Twitter, and people often ask why I discuss the circus at all. The reason isn’t because I expect a politician to come save us and make everything right again, but because the establishment response to populist-type candidates is so instructive.

Although Trump hasn’t done much of anything to address our nation’s core fundamental problems; such as a two-tier justice system, central bank power, financial feudalism, aggressive militarism/empire, rogue intelligence agencies, civil liberties abuses and tech giant censorship, his unexpected victory over chosen one Hillary Clinton nevertheless exposed many individuals and institutions for the frauds they are. Bernie Sanders’ run is doing the same thing. You don’t have to like the specific policies of Trump or Sanders to appreciate how any candidate with even a hint of grassroots populism puts the “elites” into panic mode.

It’s important to understand the ruling class doesn’t actually fear Trump or Sanders individually — any one person can be dealt with. What they really fear is you. They fear people flocking to unapproved candidates and then talking about things the establishment doesn’t want them talking about. This is the main reason the whole Russiagate fantasy was unrolled against Trump and pushed hysterically by mass media.

By ensuring “the resistance” to Trump revolved around some invented intelligence agency narrative, the power structure was able to prevent large numbers of people from talking about anything real or significant for four years straight. Although it didn’t remove Trump from office, it successfully reduced hitherto thoughtful people into emotionally broken mental midgets.

This is the reason the exact same tactic was just unrolled against Bernie Sanders, with Jeff Bezos’ Washington Post reporting the day before the Nevada caucuses that Russia is also supposedly helping Sanders. It’s ridiculous, but you have to understand the strategy here. If Sanders can’t be prevented from winning the nomination, the establishment needs a plan B, and that plan appears to be Russiagate all over again. These people aren’t very creative.

When it became clear Trump couldn’t be stopped he was smeared with being a tool of the Russians, and the same seeds are being planted around the Sanders campaign. It doesn’t matter how preposterous it is, the primary goal is to ensure nobody ever talks about anything important. Absent Russia hysteria, a Sanders vs. Trump matchup would quickly become a battle of who’s more populist, and issues that make so-called elites very uncomfortable would become widely discussed.  The ruling class doesn’t want the public talking about such things so they need to turn the election into a complete circus if Sanders can’t be blocked. Instead of talking about economic insecurity, healthcare, the cost of college and wars for empire, the goal is to make Sanders and Trump spend the entire campaign season arguing about who hates Russia more.

The important takeaway here is how completely terrified and decrepit the ruling class of this country really is. They have no argument or philosophy about anything important. As such, their only tactic is to overwhelm the public with nonsense and invented narratives in order to divide, befuddle and control the masses while keeping the imperial oligarchy running exactly as it has for decades. Once you see the game, it’s impossible to unsee it, but the good news is we all possess within ourselves the power they fear most. The power to think for ourselves and to reject ridiculous lies.

This is why we need to place relentless pressure on these people and never let up. When they feel pressure, they get scared. When they get scared, they become desperate. When they become desperate, they make mistakes. After enough mistakes, we win.

  1. “The state exists to enforce the dominance of elites, all the rest is propaganda, misdirection and obfuscation.” Those that run the state hate the masses with a limitless passion, even requesting if at all possible to come back as a deadly virus. This is just a tell that Prince Phillip has been privy to pyramid cap plannings. Remember they hate you, govt, hates you as does the U.N. but we need to love one another.

  2. I wish I could find something to disagree with, but I can’t. You nailed it, Michael.

What’s really depressing, though, is that even after the last 3 1/2 years of elite walking-down-the-center-lane-naked-yelling-at-passing-cars insanity, the boomers are still fast asleep, still parroting the latest media talking points from the previous night’s news program. It seems as long as their IRA accounts keep going up in value they couldn’t give a sh-t about anything else.

Just wait until the world economy starts convulsing when all those foreign supply lines dry up, and this pandemic impacts directly on their stock portfolios. WTF! All is fine and dandy when your net worth increases faster than you can spend it on new cars, vacations, and home remodels, but when it starts going in the other direction you’re going to hear a real boomer bitch-fest. All of that will fade into insignificance, however, when they peak through the drapes one day and see people in hazmat suits hauling their neighbors away in body bags.

  3. Makes you think perhaps just a bit …why communist states control the media .
Here in the western world sane people ( although they are few and far between) understand the media is nothing more than left wing trash talk , ( see the Bernie interview with communist mouthpiece Anderson Cooper on 60 minutes) .
Why did he not call him what he is ??? A bloody communist?? Why not tell him his own party hates him ????
Honestly , if we could find some impartial group of people I would be all for pulling all media licences and shutting them ALL DOWN !!
But then again that would be the perfect world …and all we have is this messed up place .

  4. Imam a boomer and therefore know many boomers. We boomers of the second wave are not sitting back watching our IRAs, 401ks skyrocket. We are looking at them shrinking and especially those of us without pensions, who never held government jobs etc. and have no benefits, lost our jobs in our mid 50s are pretty nervous about retirement. There are many of us who have exited the system and gotten out of debt because we are living very low, being very frugal because we know we are screwed if we are going to rely on social security or out meager and diminishing retirement accounts. We put of healthcare because it is very expensive for our age group even if like myself I have lived and extreme healthy lifestyle and have been very active and am in good shape. It is too expensive for me to have health insurance. I am now self employed not making a lot, just surviving, as are many of my friends. I many be slightly better off because I never spent money on anything frivolous and I repair everything I possibly can. I try to grow almost all my own food too because it is cheaper and more reliable,

  5. Great work as always, Michael. It’s of vital importance that more and more people wake up to the manipulation of our thoughts and beliefs by the ruling class. Perhaps my biggest ‘aha’ moment over the past couple of decades has been that the ‘democracy’ we have been led to cherish is all part of the hoax being perpetrated upon the masses. I’ve come to see the political class as little more than a legalized criminal organization that serves to maintain and expand the wealth-generating systems for the ruling class. It matters not whether it is the blue team or the red team or some other colour that holds the reins of power. The systems are built, maintained, and fortified for the parasitic caste of society, as Murray Rothbard referred to them. Withdrawing from this Matrix as much as possible may be the only way of avoiding the worst of their manipulations.

  6. IMO, this is the best article you’ve ever written.

A perfect summation at the end about a Sanders vs Trump scenario.

But if it happens they won’t just be talking about who hates Russia most. They know that. So they’re still scared shitless of that scenario unfolding.

    Great work.

  7. Sanders is the American Jeremy Corbyn and he will end the same way – cast into the wilderness; after all, he has not got long in this world anyway – they say his health isn’t good. Why would a 78 aged communist put himself through all this? Because he is and always has been a zealot just like all the other left wing supposed ‘socialists’, but really communists in sheep’s’ clothing.

This short video gives an idea of how the rulers rule:

And, yes Michael, like others, I cannot disagree with you. The coming global depression, created through the release of COVID 19, is cover for the ruling elites as they can’t defer the coming economic collapse any longer. They even war-gamed it with Event 201 in October 2019 – what a giveaway! My book explains all this and what is coming:

    • Just a simple heads up . In any given year there are 29,000,000 million people infected with the flu , ( mortality rate of 2% ) = 580,000 deaths per year .
Now what’s all the fuss of a mere 60 American infected . I’m sorry as of yesterday February 28 … 61 confirmed cases . Oh my my ! BTW mortality rate ……. a whopping 2% !!
Makes you wonder why this president doesn’t start pulling licences of Comcast , Disney , & the four others who terrify the public .

  8. Great article til the end… When they become desperate, they make mistakes. After enough mistakes, we win… And just how do we win?

  9. None of this is new, and if we look at the first time this happened in the western world, which began with the Gracchi, Saturninus, Marius and all the radical tribunes to ultimately Catalina and then Caesar in Rome, we see how this plays out and ends. The optimates will never negotiate on the way things are. Though they didn’t have the Russian collusion narrative then, new man Cicero said the would-be reformers were guilty of “subversion” possibly in aid of some foreign power, and he actually had men outlawed by the senate and killed behind these charges.
The lesson here that human nature and history teaches us is that the optimates/oligarchs would rather die than to give even an inch to the human cattle plebs whom they despise, and they will be quick to resort to violence to snuff out the reformer, if co-opting the movement and bribery won’t work. Rome, the peasant’s revolt of 1381 in England, 40 acres and a mule for freed slaves in the US, Cardenas passage of land reform legislation in Mexico, and the US oil companies’ negotiations with Mexican unions teaches us that: a) they will only listen if threatened with violence, and b) reforms will only be enacted under the threat of violence, and c) if allowed to live, they will renege on the promised reforms at the first chance, and will move to kill the opposition.
Though Trump does have some similarities to Catalina, we’re still pre-Gracchi. The bloodshed hasn’t even started yet. But it has to start, if we’re serious about hope and change.

    • A friend of mine always says “nothing changes until people start dying” I’m inclined to believe his statement is accurate. I’m not advocating such things but it certainly seems to be the case of when history is recorded. Independent thoughts are of supreme importance, to bad so many people don’t have them.

  10. At least, it is looking like a critical mass of Americans (folk willing to vote for Bernie Sanders) are starting to recognize the ruling class “Big Con” that has been in place since the Bretton Woods agreement of 1944 – we are told we live in a Democratic Republic that values civil liberties, social justice, and equality for all – when what the ruling elite really means is that you are “free” only if you want to play by the rules of an obscene form of predatory capitalism that eviscerates any concept of humane life and compassion. At the corporate and political level in America, it is a culture that has utterly lost its humanity…and folk are starting to notice.

  11. I don’t disagree in general. But I want to know who comprises the ‘ruling class’? Are they old Republicans and/or Democrats? Bankers and Financial mavens? Who are you speaking of anyway? Can I walk the down the street and recognize such a person…or more importantly, can you?

  12. After 8 years+ of bashing on Obama, did any of you really think it mattered who was *SELECTED* by the RNC for you to vote for.?? They would have done the same thing to Mit or Bush… Trump made a great target is all.

Yesterdays muslim in chief is todays russian in chief. Effigee’s of Obama / Hang Hilary messages found bogus impeachment crap. Birth records vs tax records. You have it all in reverse… and probably planned that way. They’re selected. Which by the way, if the DNC really wanted to win in 2016, they would have let Sanders get the nod. If the DNC really wanted a win with Hilary’s face, they would have selected her over Obama. Hilary was never slated to be there… ever. Which is why the camera’s gave all the attention for name recognition to Trump. Pied Piper Candidate… even Hilary was expecting Trump to win. Did any of you go over to the DNC website in 2015/16??? I did. They were not promoting any of the left candidates… they made sure to show the RNC choices, and Trump was at the bottom, like everything else out there, you know that negative publicity stuff TMZ uses to get you to go watch a video of someone having wardrobe malfunctions?? LOL. That underdog shit that tugs at hearts across the planet. If they did not want Trump there, they would have not given him any time behind the camera like they did to Ron Paul, or just manipulate the polls like the left did to get another favorite to the convention to pull the plug on Trump like they did to Sanders. He’s still the only one to win against Trump, toe to toe. And what they do… dropped Bloomberg in there to split the Sanders vote, like Hilary did, solidifying the win for Trump. NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN AGAINST HIM THERE. Matter of fact. When in all of history has a market crashed and NOT been blamed on one??? A flu virus. REALLY PEOPLE. Same damn thing every year… and there’s a full blown market for that. Did it keel over with SARS or the others??? NOPE. It was already on the last stand, and was ready to crack. And it would have been blamed on Trump, because he was out there bragging about the massive bubble he put there just days before the crash. He would have owned that lock stock and bbl. Nope. The deep state military complex got a flu bug just in time to keep eyes off their puppet up there. Everything else is bull shit entertainment. Another point. Every single time a state so much breathed about a gun law, the whole country would scream foul at Obama. Where are the cries from the left that Trump is taking guns.??? Not a damn peep, and the gun confiscation in the last 3 years “trumps” all 8 of Obama. FACT CHECK THAT.

The tariffs started in 2013. The space force started in 1998 and the release date of the final white paper was in July 2016. Do any of you really think any one up there on the stage from either end could have got any support at all for either, other than Trump.??? He was chosen to be golden hair boy long before most were even born. And oddly enough. Shares all the same circles with everyone we would love to see get thrown behind bars. They had a great ace in the hole when it was needed.

We vote for parties. A vote for Sanders, would still give us Hilary. Just like a vote for Trump, still got us Bush.

Want actually out of this… stop voting for a democracy and vote for the republic the framers gave us.

  13. We all know how sharply divided the US and much of the world has become, but COVID 19 illustrates this even better than politics. Until a week or two ago, when the MSM was shrugging off the virus and the “markets” didn’t even notice it, alt media was covering this issue with generally favorable comments. Once the MSM started putting the virus on headlines and global markets started to shudder, it was like a switch flipped. Suddenly people were loudly proclaiming that the whole thing was a hoax, or that COVID 19 is just the flu and that media wanted to see Trump fail. Trump himself fanned these flames, as did the sickly Rush Limbaugh.

Personally, I want the virus to fizzle out because I have a spring trip to Japan set up and I’ve been looking forward to it for a full year. Still, I struggle to fathom the mindset of these people who are doing their best Leslie Nielsen “nothing to see here!” routine. Nobody knows exactly how this plays out, but if it’s a hoax that would mean China, Iran, Italy, Japan, and a slew of countries are in on the game, and that seems rather unlikely.

The point is that critical thinking is absent (at the moment) from the US landscape because people are way more concerned about narratives than they are about being correct. It’s not just the red/blue game, it’s anything that challenges the asinine statements people make online every day. They dig in and try to shout down their opponents. Matt Taibbi wrote about this, how phrases like “I don’t know” and “I don’t care” have disappeared from political discourse. You have to have a strong opinion and never admit error, it’s the new American way.

  14. Good piece Michael ! If we think of “NEWS” sources merely as advertising and promotion agencies, then it is pretty easy to see what each one advertises and promotes. Absolutely NONE “report” what doesn’t suit them.

We are no longer educated, or taught to think. We’re just conditioned to respond in certain ways.
The media is similar. They are not there to inform us any longer – just to top-up and reinforce our conditioning.

  17. I am perplexed why people continue (not necessarily saying on here, although this post is in response to a couple comments mentioning Sanders) to suggest that Sanders will be the “real change.” Or why Socialism will be the “real change.”

We continue to see that it isn’t Capitalism itself that is the cause of these issues, but rather cronyism, the Fed and its policies, and a combination of punches from both the government AND corporations.
Further that with how Socialism almost never works for extended periods of time or even in significantly large countries. Simple reasons being: the money runs out eventually. The rich leave and/or find ways to minimize their tax burdens anyway they can. And I don’t blame them.

I agree that the world system is broke, but I’m just not seeing what can fix this. And the commies and socialists screaming for Bernie and their policies as the panacea to all of this is as big of a farce as the system their claiming to be against.
