Hooray to the Turks for taking on the House of Saud!
Besides the Washington Post that despises Trump, who wins if US Foreign policy in the Middle East is drastically altered against the Saudis? Consider the pressure we’re putting on Iran. https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/10/turkish_taffy.html
Tons of winners emerge if we turn against the House of Saud! First of all, anyone who wants to see the Sunni world modernize wins. All secularists and moderates in the Arab world win, and even many Islamists win (provided they’re nationalists). Remember that Wahhabism is particularly Saudi.
The Shia win too since they’d likely have a better relationship with more moderate Sunnis. Iran benefits, but so would Iraq, Bahrain, and others.
The West (sans the traitorous MIC) wins because this would be a huge blow to the ISIS/Al Qaeda type movements. Jihadi groups, insofar as they continue to exist, would be localized. No longer would they be centralized and flush with oil money.
The only losers would be the Wahhabis themselves, the US MIC, and maybe Likudniks in Israel. So the overwhelming majority of the world would benefit.
On Johnstone’s article re Facebook censorship, where is the class-action lawsuit by the perhaps 1,000 potential plaintiffs? They represent institutional investors, far more valuable investors than buyers of FB stock, since they are the ones who spent valuable time and effort building entire structures upon FB’s foundation. FB would be half the company it is if these people had not done what they did. I joined FB only because of these people, and I’ve not been spending time there since the censorship began. Clearly, then, this is bigger than violations of free speech: this is theft of resources by FB, coercion akin to gangsterism, and restriction of commerce. Should be a slam dunk for the suit, in my opinion.
