Last month, Donald’s Trump choice to head the CIA, Mike Pompeo, dedicated much of his first speech toward a hysterical and disturbing rant against Wikileaks and its founder Julian Assange (I covered this in detail in the post: The American Empire Under Donald Trump Has Become Increasingly Desperate, Dangerous & Insecure).
Although the entire episode was an absurd and embarrassing spectacle, what really caught people off guard was Pompeo’s assertion that Assange cannot claim a First Amendment defense within the U.S. legal system because he is not an American citizen. Although the fact that the head of the CIA would harbor such an interpretation of the U.S. Constitution isn’t surprising, it’s alarming nonetheless. Right away Assange identifies China as one of the “real threats” to the United States.
This is of course, an incredibly obvious truth.
Yet all we hear about from both political Party’s is the faux threat from Russia.
russia is no “faux” threat. they now have 6k+ nukes and have successfully convinced us to disarm down to 1k. they also think that a nuclear war is winnable – did you notice how putin was literally running nuclear shelter drills last year right in Moscow with millions of people? putin is former kgb, russia has never confronted their past criminal communists the way nazi germany did after wwii.
