Video of the Day – Democratic Congressman Admits the Party Stands for Absolutely Nothing

The problem very quickly became what Integral Metatheory calls a “legitimation crisis,” which it defines as a mismatch between Lower-Left (or cultural) beliefs and the Lower-Right systems (or actual background realities, such as the techno-economic base). The cultural belief was that everybody is created equal, that all people have a perfect and equal right to full personal empowerment, that nobody is intrinsically superior to others (beliefs that flourished with green). Yet the overwhelming reality was increasingly one of a stark and rapidly growing unequality—in terms of income and overall worth, property ownership, employment opportunity, healthcare access, life satisfaction issues. The culture was constantly telling us one thing, and the realities of society were consistently failing to deliver it—the culture was lying. This was a deep and serious legitimation crisis— a culture that is lying to its members simply cannot move forward for long. And if a culture has “no truth,” it has no idea when it’s lying—and thus it naturally lies as many times as it accidentally tells the truth, and hence faster than you can say “deconstruction,” it’s in the midst of a legitimation crisis.

– From the post: How a Breakdown in Liberal Ideology Created Trump – Part 1

My primary theme thus far in 2017, has centered around the observation that no constructive opposition to Trump currently exists in America. All we have from “the resistance” (corporate Democrats, corporate media and the deep state) thus far are endless conspiracy theories about Trump and Russia. This clownish opposition doesn’t actually stand for anything, and remains fully committed to continuing down the disastrous path we’ve been on this entire century. Simply being opposed to something isn’t going to cut it any longer, and there’s increasing evidence that the public is starting to catch on to the total fraud that is the establishment Democratic Party.

Jimmy Dore does an excellent job exposing this sham in the following clip. Make sure to watch the entire thing, it gets better and better:

Unless the Democratic Party begin to stand for something, it will remain dead opposition. If you want some evidence, just take a look at this incredible chart from The Huffington Post:

As you can see, the real plunge happened right after the election when it became clear that Democratic leadership would remain in place, and rather than admit failure, began to harp non-stop on Russia conspiracy theories. This tactic clearly isn’t working.

It’s not just the Huffington Post poll either, the evidence is everywhere. As Matt Stoller showed in a tweet earlier today.

There’s a huge opening for a new political party in America. It’s low hanging fruit.

I’m ready.

  1. This would be the best time for a party with classically liberal ideals that the country was founded on to replace the DNC. I mean they nominated Debbie Wasserman Schultz to be their chair.

  2. The whole of the American political scene with the ‘two party tyranny’ has finally achieved the status of not even caring enough to erect a rhetorical front in addressing issues important to the people. The two parties are in fact special interests groups that hang out in Washington to wet their collective beaks at the banksters and their corporate entourage’s trough, filled with cash and other goodies, provided and backstopped by enslaving the taxpayer with debt, all owed to the banking class.

    Timely post M.K..

  3. So Jimmy Dore wants the answer to be a new New Deal and bring up FDR?!

FDR’s New Deal was a freakin’ disaster that extended the Great Depression for years. Had it not been for the US entering WWII it would have gone on even longer.

FDR was a classic example of a born and bred Yankee Blue Blood who was always at the beck and call of the Banksters.

Way to go Jimmy! You clueless Clown….

    • FDR totally saved this country. Unemployment totally turned around when he came into office. There is a reason he lasted four terms. He was one of the best presidents ever.

The FED caused the second depression and stock market drop, Not FDR. The red raised interest rates like they always do to try and curb inflation. But they are to stupid to realize it is a cause and effect about one year later. They always keep raising rates and looking for some kind of immediate reaction that doesnt happen. Then they raise again, and again until the bad economic numbers finally come in. by then its to late. The res-session starts. And of course its going to take another year before any loosening starts to see an effect.

the FED are a bunch of idiots. We should of fired them a long time ago. They have been robing the middle class for decades.

Gee?? I wonder what the FED is doing now? Whats going to happen? And watch as the media blames Trump.

  4. Bernie Sanders was always the answer. He was honest and had a plan that would have saved this country from the destruction that the FIRE sector is causing to the middle class. Breaking up the banks and reinstalling Glass Steagall. Just look at the results Iceland accomplished. They threw all the bankers in jail and now they have the strongest growing economy in the developed world. Fixing the system is really easy. But it involves taking away power from the FIRE sector. The FIRE sector manipulates the public and controls the politicians. So nothing changes. It means more pain for the middle class.

    WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!

Dont let these pencil pushing unproductive parasites from the FIRE sector keep destroying the middle class decade after decade after decade.

  5. Too much smugness among Republicans. This usually happens when they think they have everything in the bag, but, at least in Congress, they have absolutely no idea how to lead. They have been in the minority for so long, they don’t know what to do, not to mention that they have to worst Party leaders in both Houses, Ryan and McConnell. Both of them together don’t have enough brainpower, charisma, and drive to beat their way out of a wet paper bag. I haven’t voted GOP in years because I got fed up with promises never kept.

  6. Been watching Jimmy Dore ever since Bernie got shafted. He’s become a foul odour with some Dems for refusing to fall in line and shout at Trump. But he’s 100% right. Pelosi, DWS, Clinton, Feinstein and others have totally ripped the party in two with their craven Corporate shilling.

  7. I clicked on that chart to get a closer look. Interestingly, the recent relentless downward trajectory of the Democratic Party’s popularity began not right after the election, but at the beginning of October. That was right around the time the infamous p-grabbing tape was released to a chorus of shrill and continuously repeated denunciations from Democrats, and was when they really began to ramp up the anti-Russia nonsense. To many people’s credit, they obviously realized that it was all just a huge distraction meant to make people forget just how hollow and devoid of substance Clinton’s campaign really was.

You obviously went to public school, John.

How FDR Made the Depression Worse

“The FED caused the second depression and stock market drop,”

You are correct. The Fed did cause the Great Depression.

So what did FDR do about the Federal Reserve in 1933?

He issued Presidential order 6102, which required all Americans to deliver all gold coins, gold bullion, and gold certificates to their local Federal Reserve Bank on or before April 28, 1933.

Yeah boy! That really showed the Fed.

FDR in concert with the Federal Reserve used the depression to sell all US citizens then and now out, lock, stock, and barrel, to the Fed and the money masters (aka/ Banksters).

JFK on the other hand, tried to unwind that by issuing Executive Order 11110 which stripped the Federal Reserve of its power to loan money to the United States Federal Government at interest.Which would have put the Federal Reserve out of business.

We all know how that worked out for Jack Kennedy.

    • Well done Genaro.

In my public schooling days, I liked FDR too. Since then, after many years of study and experience, I’ve rejected a large portion of everything they taught me.

  9. “There’s a huge opening for a new political party in America. It’s low hanging fruit. I’m ready.”
Ready for what? Communism? Because that is the only “opposition party” with any wheels. Basically disaffected Bernie supporters, Feminists, and snowflake SJW Millennials – which are all Communist.

  10. Great point that Dems stand for nothing.

But Dore’s crowd is waaaay too socialist. More big gov’t and handouts. How about dealing with debt and corruption as a first step?

    • Dore is just another pissed off Bernie lover who is still in denial over the fact that his hero sold himself out like a 2 dollar whore at the convention.
