Former High Ranking U.S. Senator Wants to “Hang Edward Snowden on the Courthouse Square”

We need to hang him on the courthouse square as soon as we get a hold of him.

– Former vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Saxby Chambliss, on Edward Snowden

It appears the past few days have represented a sort of coming out party for formerly powerful players in the U.S. government to showcase their fascist tendencies. Earlier today, I highlighted General Wesley Clark’s clear suggestion during a MSNBC interview that Americans who are “disloyal” should be forcibly separated from the “normal” general population through the use of WWII style internment camps.

In the latest display, video has emerged of former Republican Senator, and ex-vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, saying that Edward Snowden should be hanged in the courthouse square. What ever happened to fair trials?

From the Hill:

The U.S. should publicly hang leaker Edward Snowden if and when he falls into the government’s hands, according to the former top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

“We need to hang him on the courthouse square as soon was we get our hands on him,” retired Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) — who served as vice chairman of the powerful intelligence panel before stepping down from Congress last year — said during an appearance at the University of Georgia this month.

“I hope none of you have any sympathy for him,” he told students at the Terry College of Business.

You tell ’em Saxby!

It’s as if these guys are publicly auditioning for a top job within the financial-miliatry-cyber-industrial complex.

  1. We were told that 9/11 was a terrorist attack on our freedoms, that “they hate us for our freedom.” Ever since then, government and media have used 9/11 to justify depriving us of our rights as being necessary in the so-called “war on terror”. And the government continually restricts our freedom by broadening the definition of “terrorism” so that it now encompasses acts that, prior to 9/11, were never considered as terrorism. And now these guys want to further restrict our freedom by taking away our physical freedom for acts not committed.
We need to confront this by redirecting the use of “terrorist” and related words back at them. Given that the 9/11 terrorists “hate us for our freedom”, aren’t those who support denying us freedom via draconian restrictions of our rights then sympathizers of the 9/11 terrorists?
The government has gotten away with its oppression by use of “terrorist”, “terrorism”, “supporter of terrorism”, “terrorist sympathizer” against us. We need to fight fire with fire.

  2. Yes, Saxby old chum, traitors SHOULD be hung…and any old light pole will do.

You and your ilk would do well to really think about that.

  3. Bring it on, Suxby. Every time you neo-Nazis open your mouth, another truckload of millenials turns their backs forever on your lying, corrupt government.

Neil S above has it right…something I think freedom lovers have failed to utilize to any significant degree. The language has been twisted against freedom lovers with no appreciable push-back. Usulally, we’re caught floundering around trying to DISPROVE we’re traitors, racists, nut cases, etc.

Time to turn the tables like Neil S suggests. Every time someone tries to pin the some half-baked tag on us, we should ask why they support the terrorists plans to steal our freedoms. PUT THEM ON THE DEFENSIVE AND RIDICULE THEM OPENLY.

No more time left to logically defend a position that is, without fail, misrepresented. Go on the verbal attack when you are in the presence of those who try to make the language work against us.

  4. Is Sen. Saxby Chambliss a bloodthirsty terrorist? Well… the only reason to publicly lynch a man is to send a message to everyone who witnesses it: OBEY US or DIE LIKE HIM. He promotes using fear as a weapon against the people. And that’s what terrorists do whenever they can.

    • That would be hilarious. Do you realize what that would mean if he won? It would mean that the safety of the new President of the United States was provided by Russia!
