Vox Editor Tweets – “If Trump Comes to Your Town, Start a Riot”

Two tweets last night by Vox editor, Emmett Rensin, have started a social media riot.

Here they are:

Shortly thereafter, he pens another tweet. Apparently attempting to justify/explain away his prior tweet.

True, except for the fact that Trump would have to provably be Hitler. In other words, he would need to do a lot more than say offensive things. He would need to start doing them. 

You can’t just start arresting people or violently attacking them for stuff they say. First Amendment precedent is pretty clear about this. The threats needs to be specific and credible. Moreover, the supporters who were attacked didn’t even say those things. Trump did. 

Meanwhile, you’ve got Obama and Hillary Clinton running around the world taking people out, starting wars and destabilizing countries in real life. So are Obama and Clinton supporters guilty of war crimes?

To round up the Vox nonsense, let’s turn to Matt Yglesias.

Really dude? First of all, no one actually hit Trump with an egg (that might actually be kinda funny). Rather, a female Trump supporter was pelted with an egg for the crime of attending a political rally. Moreover, Hillary Clinton is far more similar to Hitler than Trump at this point. She’s got far more blood on her hands. Phony liberals tend to have a hard time accepting this fact.

Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t also include this priceless response to Yglesias.

To be fair, I still think @pmarca has Yglesias beat on the human egg front.

I once tweeted that if Paul Krugman had sex with the internet, you’d end up with Vox.

I think you see what I mean.

  1. I think Godwin’s law was invented because idiots like Rensin and Yglesias treat the name like an evil talisman, something to be feared but in the manner of a superstition without any real understanding.

    The nature of actual fascism as a system characterized by government control and corporate corruption seems to elude their sieve-like minds. All they’re left with is a primitive identification of Hitler with “the right”, never mind that his party was the national . . . socialists! The fact that Hitler’s policy of attempting to usurp territory outside his borders is much more consistent with the failed foreign policy of Hillary Clinton (“We came; we saw. He died!” Cackle cackle cackle!) than the sometimes almost isolationist words of a Trump registers not at all.

    There are a lot of valuable lessons and inferences to draw from the history of fascism and of Hitler. But, because of people who obstinately refuse to think like Rensin and Yglesias the very name, as Godwin’s Law implies is virtually out of bounds for much discourse. With these tweets they show again why.

    • She is not a lying, corrupt, crooked woman…she is a lying, corrupt, crooked politician. Just as we do not go out of our way to note that Trump is a man, we should not note that Clinton is a woman either. For anyone to play that card, they would be a sexist.

      Judge by the act, not the gender. Do not fall prey to considering her gender because then you can accidentally allow yourself to feel sympathy, despite her deeds. That’s what she’s counting on. So remove her gender (that she only uses as a tool to fool support for her claims and schemes — remember how she tried to play the ‘grandmother’ card and it failed so poorly?).

      You can just think of her as the lying, corrupt, crooked lawyer and politician with a proven track record of self-serving, abusive, powermonging greed for personal gain at the expense of everyone around her that she is because that is what it ultimately comes down to. Just another abusive politician that we would not make excuses for if she didn’t keep being given special dispensation for her gender.

The liberals want us to pay for college for everyone just so they have more people brain washed in this country. Most all university and community college teach a liberal view point. However the vast amount of schooling that they want to give; common sense is no on the list.

    To those people that want to fly there flag here in america and want to burn ours and if your country was so grate but you came here and dont like the way things are ran here. I am sure most patriotic amaricans would allow the use of funs to send your asses back to where you came from.

      The democrats are making suggestions as to how to make college more affordable by taxing the very rich “wall street”. If you recall, and I seriously doubt you do, we the tax payers bailed out wall street because of their wreckless behavior. Now people like you and Donald “the weasel” Trump want to do away with the all of the laws implemented by Pres. Obama, law named Dodd-Frank, that places restrictions on big banks from doing as it feels like it.

    • Blame Trump for all of the violence, he is promoting it at his rallies and continues to promote same. Just listen to all of his remarks and past and present rallies and his insulting language this week towards a sitting Federal Judge who will preside over his case! I rest my case…….

    • First of all, Mr. Donald Trump started the promotion of viokence at his rallies being he has nothing constructive to say. He also preached violence to the RNC by saying ‘HIS SUPPORTERS WOULD RIOT IF HE WERE NOT SELECTED AS NOMINEE FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY”.
      What Mr. Priebus of the RNC should have replied to Mr. Trump is, we would be better off if he were to drop out of the race and allow one of the other intelligent candidates to run!
      You sound like one of the supporters in denial of the fact that Mr. Trump is more than a flawed candidate but a divider and racist too!
      Insulting others because they do not share the same view he has (whatever they might be, who knows!) is not the answer. Mr. Trump has repeatedly promoted violence at his rallies and even stated that he would pay their legal bills then 15 minutes later changed his mind (like he does on all issues).
      Mr. Trump supports and has a high degree of respect for Vladamir Putin and Kim Jong un of North Korea as strong leaders (this should tell you that he has authoritarian views) or are you watching another type of cable/satellite TV? He then blames others when violence breaks out and the true person responsible, is he and he only!
      Secondly, his temperament of violence came out this week when Federal Justice Curiel was selected to preside over his RICO (yes RICO, he stated this during his ranting) about the Judge’s ethnicity being of Mexican heritage and the man was born in Indiana. This Judge prosecuted Mexican and Central American drug lords and gangs for years and his life was threatened by these same drug dealers, and now you have this moron Trump making more racial statements sparking more anger in California towards himself because of his own stupidity! These remarks were made at an angry Trump rally and saying the judge is Mexican and other disparaging remarks and this shouldn’t be!
      This anger you speak of and violence is brought upon by Mr. Donald “the weasel” Trump and his racist and disparaging overtones towards others. As soon as you and the other morons supporting this candidate come to grips with the fact that this character Trump is dangerous not only to this country but to others, then we might be able to find an intelligent candidate to run other than Trump. (we plan to vote Gary Johnson (R) running under the Libertarian Party).
      Thirdly, I’d like to point out that he insulted Sen. Elizabeth Warren calling her Pocahontas. What kind of moron is Trump to be calling anybody names? He also embarrassed the President by calling him incompetent, when he is at least 500 times smarter than Donald Trump.
      My suggestion to you is, go back to night school and get a GED then study the life and times of Donald Trump and you will find out this guy is nothing but a con-artist!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • First off is, my wife and I are republicans. As for the democrats, they have a valid point and Mr. Trump as usual and bombastic made very racist and rhetoric remarks towards a sitting judge Mr. Gonzalo Curiel. Even Donald Trump’s own attorneys have said that the judge did nothing wrong.
      It is not the fault of the USA that Donald Trump supporters are in denial and cannot accept that their candidate has inner personal and possibly psychological problems.   9. Then what does the conservative supporters think of a man who is facing fraud charges? Defrauds the elderly, poor and less fortunate. He tries to invoke eminent domain on a 74 year old woman and loses the case. He insults Gov. Martinez, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Rubio, Gov. Kasich, Gov. Bush, Sen. McCain, Dr. Ben Carson, Gov. Christie, disabled reporter and disabled veterans, Mrs. Carly Fiorina, The Pope, Hispanics, African Americans to include Pres. Obama and women. The only persons missing are the Native Alaskan Eskimos, and let’s hope that he doesn’t take a trip to Alaska and figure that one out. Divorced 2-3 times with very large settlements.
    This man is totally unfit by virtue of cannot take simple sarcasm, as he fly’s off the handle then starts to insult in very personal ways. He cannot answer questions at the debates, fails to adequately provide answers for problems, he always responds with one liners like “Oh yes we’re going to fix the healthcare system and your gonna love it”! Every response is your gonna love it. He refuses to turn over his income taxes, then puts out a ridiculous tax plan i.e. 25% for the rich, 15% for the middle income and 10% lower income. Mr. Trump “who does not pay taxes” is at a 37% tax rate, therefore why on earth would any working person want to give this character such a large reduction?
    This does not sound like a man kneeling at the foot of the cross but a full blown con-artist! Wake up America, and smell the coffee cause if you think things are bad now, wait til Donald Trump and his band of elfs take over….
