Clinton seems to use the word “consistent” like a sorceress casting spells. If she just pronounces the magic word “consistent”, it makes the whole past goes “poof” and disappear.
“Look, that wall is white!” ”
“No, actually, it’s green and everybody knows it’s green.”
“Yes, if you examine my record you will see that I have CONSISTENTLY stated that that is a green wall.”
“But…er…you just said it was white.”
“No-o-o, and I’m just going to come right out and tell you frankly that I don’t appreciate what you’re implying. It seems to me you’re attempting to twist my record–which has been completely CONSISTENT, by the way–but I am not going to sink to that level and instead maintain my consistent position that that is a green wall.”
“So when…uh…you literally pronounced the words ‘that wall is white’, you…er…actually meant that, uh–”
“Look, I don’t know what you’re trying to do here, but I’m confident that the people understand my CONSISTENT record of standing up for the fact that that is a green wall, and I will STAND on that record.”
How a human being can be SO solipsistically cloistered in the self-fashioned catacombs of her own soul, where her reality “consistently” comes into being by nothing more or less than HER “fiat”…and she really believes all the poor peons out there buy it… is absolutely stupefying.
