Video of the Day – Carrier Employees React to Being Informed Their Jobs Are Going to Mexico

You may have already seen the following video, but if you haven’t, it’s an absolute must watch. It personalizes the pain and frustration being felt across these United States as executives throw people on the street in order to boost earnings per share by a couple of cents. It also explains why both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders continue to perform so well in the primaries, and why the populist revolt in America is just getting started.

Trump and Sanders are both genuinely adamant in their opposition to fake free trade deals like the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), while Hillary Clinton only recently pretended to be against it. In my mind, there is no doubt that if elected President Clinton will actively advocate for the TPP as soon as she’s in office. After all, she made 45 public statements praising the proposed deal from 2010-2013. She only came out against it after polling indicated it was a losing position in the Democratic primary.

  1. Best part of the video was when someone yelled out “Fuck you!”

Meanwhile, plans are in the works for Interstate 11 from Mexico to Canada. So, we get to enable these corporate a-holes.

    • The business owners of CAC should offer their employees to move to Mexico if they don’t want to lose their jobs, earning the same US Dollars wages converted into Mexican Pesos (the cost of living in that country is cheaper)…wondering how many of those lazy asses would take such generous offer.

Instead of whining why corporations are relocating their interests overseas, America should negotiate with other countries to allow US citizens to obtain immigrant visas.

      End of story

  2. It’s great to see the populism.

There’s a paradox in play here. The upside for the right, Trump specifically, is that when Sanders loses to Hillary a decent number of his voters will probably go to Trump. The disturbing aspect of this is how this exposes the lack of education of so many that would drive them without second thoughts to the polar opposite of ideologies. People sadly just don’t understand how economies work or they wouldn’t have considered Sanders to begin with. In trade both Sanders and Trump overlap through different premises.

  3. JD Power…JD Power…please pick up the red phone. Paging JD Power…

Anyone who buys Carrier between now and the “competitive” move to Mexico will probably wind up with metal shavings as a bonus.

You know what I want to see? I want to see Carrier executives replaced with Mexican executives. They work for less too, just like the line workers. If the company’s future is so important and a “price sensitive market” is paramount, how about outsourcing the VIPs along with the little guys?

Or…just wait until the VIPs can’t go out of their house without an armed guard. Whichever.

  4. The good people on that factory floor ought to have STORMED the podium when that weedy little corporate jerk said “We want to ensure our products meet the very highest quality standards…”

And THAT IS WHY they are moving to Mexico??! What an incredible insult to all those workers!
