Iraq War Veteran Blows the Whistle on Shameless Propaganda Being Taught at Police Academies

Before getting into the meat of this post, I want to start off by stating a fact: There is no “war on police” happening in America today. What is happening is a growing movement of people who want police accountability, profess a desire to reform the justice system so that we stop incarcerating people for the  oxymoron of “victimless crimes,” and an end to the widespread thieving of the public without due process via a practice known as civil asset forfeiture.

I’ve covered these topics extensively over the years. Here are just a few examples:

The United States: 5% of the World’s Population, 25% of its Prisoners

Don’t Mess with Texas – Police Raid and Shutdown Lemonade Stand Run by 7 and 8-Year-Old Girls

Chart of the Day – America’s Prison Population Over the Past 100 Years

Denver Police Arrest “Jury Nullification” Activist for Passing Out Informational Pamphlets

Land of the Unfree – Police and Prosecutors Fight Aggressively to Retain Barbaric Right of “Civil Asset Forfeiture”

The DEA Strikes Again – Agents Seize Man’s Life Savings Under Civil Asset Forfeiture Without Charges

Asset Forfeiture – How Cops Continue to Steal Americans’ Hard Earned Cash with Zero Repercussions

The public grievances listed earlier are reasonable demands which any civilized culture would insist upon. Nevertheless, many police departments across the country are taking these criticisms as part of some imagined “war on police” which simply doesn’t exist. Rather than showing even a sliver of introspection by looking inward at the mistakes policing has made in recent years, many officers are becoming defensive, combatant and have resorted to lies in order to dismiss the concerns of the public.

This is precisely what an Iraq war veteran witnessed recently while training at a police academy. He shared his story with the Daily Beast under the pseudonym Clayton Jenkins. Here are some excerpts:

The War on Cops is a grossly inaccurate response to recent police killings which are on track for another year that will rival the safest on record. Gunfire deaths by police officers are down 27 percent this year, according to the Officer Down memorial page, and police killings in general are at a 20-year low, given current numbers for 2015. Police deaths in Barack Obama’s presidency are lower than the past four administrations, going all the way back to Ronald Reagan’s presidency.

Not a single iota of evidence supports a War on Police, but it has become a battle cry among some in the academy.

Over 80 percent of police departments in the United States are facing issues with low recruitment numbers. As an Iraq War veteran I sought to solidify my chance of employment working in law enforcement by attending a local police academy. I enjoyed serving my country as military police and will do such now as a sworn police officer back home.

What are they telling us in a post-Michael Brown academy? The culture of police brutality is infrequently addressed, but what is continually mentioned is the notion that there is a War on Police.

“The Obama Administration and Eric Holder are undermining the police. We have officers dying left and right and he’s dicking off in Alaska,” says one of my instructors, referring to the president’s trip to Alaska last week.

I understand as a law enforcement professional—and as someone capable of fairly reading mountains of data—that the Drug War has been unfairly used as a tool of oppression against the black community. It is why the American public overall has shown they have less confidence in police in recent times.

But there is no War on Police. This Us vs. Them mentality still prevails even in fresh academy cadets. Perhaps some of these people will become future jackbooted, truncheon wielding oppressors. Or perhaps they will encounter the reality that betrays the fear they are taught.

Now watch the following recruitment video for the Portsmouth, Virginia police department.

Meanwhile, a Portsmouth officer was recently indicted after fatally shooting 18-year-old William Chapman after he was caught shoplifting.

This looks like a scene from Gaza, not the America we imagine.

Please tell me. Who has declared war on who?

    • Wake up folks. They’re not “just keeping us safe”. Your rights have already been stripped(check out presidential executive orders), and this controlling police state we live in is NOT FREEDOM. Anyone who thinks USA is a free country needs to learn to think for themselves and stop believing what the government tells you. You didn’t actually think they were voted in, did you? Think Selection, not Election.

    • Law enforcement is no better than the hired thugs the mafia used to use. “say no to bullies” is a good slogan and words to live by. Why should the government be allowed to bully it’s citizens into doing what they want? There’s a rule of law which stateSLs: anything i do by proxy(representative) i can do myself. Would you put yourself in jail for the rediculus reasons the american government does? They’re controlling us, not representing us.

    • You forgot to flick the sarcasm switch to “OFF” when you left, Warren. I think the Climate warming crew is going to come and cite you. Perhaps they will SWAT Team you for wasting energy.

  1. I disagree with the notion that there is “no war on the police” in light of the actions of black rage that kills a cop a day for being a cop and the statements made by radical blacks, the black panthers, farrakhan, ad nauseum that call for black jihad against the police. These stories, and evidence, are more in number than anything denying them.

    • If you are referring to certain people making certain statements just in order to draw attention to themselves or stir up trouble, you do understand that it is not translating into ACTUAL increased violence against police. That’s just a fact.

    • @Michael Krieger: Tell that to Deputy Goforth’s family…….Tell it to their face and see what kind of response you get. If people don’t like the law change them!!!!!!!!! Don’t blame law enforcement for doing the job!

    • You gotta be kidding me! NAZI’s?!? You’re going there Michael? You have no IDEA how much better police training and application of the law has gotten since the 1960’s. We’re not talking about civil asset forfeiture, idiot! That’s a legal process. You don’t like it? Complain to your congressmen! You are a typical SJW who knows nothing about the world you live in and spread false information to push an agenda! The majority of police are just trying to do there jobs and go home. Writing bull crap like this is going to do nothing but further isolate/corner them.
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it! Hope you can protect yourself because the world you envision is a bad guy paradise!!!!

    • Apparently someone forgot to take their meds today.

A few points that anyone with more than two brain cells would understand. Law does not mean ethics. Cops are not behaving ethically, and civil asset forfeiture is theft. And yes we ARE talking about civil asset forfeiture, since that was a key point of my piece.

And yes I am bringing up Nazis. Why? Because as MLK noted, Everything Hitler did in Nazi Germany was legal. See: http://libertyblitzkrieg.com/2013/06/07/martin-luther-king-everything-adolf-hitler-did-in-germany-was-legal/

As John Adams explained, “facts are stubborn things.” A very unfortunate reality for an unhinged person with fascist tendencies such as yourself.

Moving along, I already explained what I wish for, but since you aren’t that bright I’ll go quote from the actual article I wrote.

A growing movement of people who want police accountability, desire to reform the justice system so that we stop incarcerating people for the oxymoron of “victimless crimes,” and an end to the widespread thieving of the public without due process via a practice known as civil asset forfeiture.

I should be careful to wish for those things? Ok.

You missed your calling. You would have been very good at taking orders in 1938 Germany. You would have gleefully proclaimed, “but it’s the law!” as your boot smashed some poor soul’s face against the pavement.

    • After reading your exchange with Mr. Krieger, I can only shake my head in dismay of your ignorance, which has probably been fostered by the mainstream news media and the police shows that you watch on television. Having worked in law enforcement many years ago, I can tell you first-hand that the sanitized public image of the police versus what actually takes place behind the scenes are two very different things. The old saying that there is a fine line between a cop and a criminal holds true, with most cops having a foot planted on either side of the line. I watched many green recruits, naive and idealistic, become hardened cynics overnight. In order to survive, they evolve into street smart animals, playing both sides of the fence, often forgetting who is friend and who is foe, and this is where the problems begin, such as we are discussing now.

Over the years, I have watched the situation with our police grow worse. The doctrine that is now taught in our police academies is an “Us versus Them” mentality. America is under occupation, and this ideology has grown out of the training that our Sheriffs and Police Chiefs receive when they attend the various programs at the FBI Academy and, worse, the counter-terrorism training that they receive in Israel. Our militarized domestic police force is now better equipped than our soldiers were when they entered Iraq in 2003. The goal of this is to build a domestic army, which will be under Federal control.

This so-called war on cops being carried out by the New Black Panthers, et al, needs to be understood for what it is: a program of social destabilization that is coordinated and funded by elements within our own government, and further abetted by outside parties, such as George Soros. This is simply a divide and conquer strategy that pits one group against the other, which fractures our society.

In the past, I have avoided making any type of comment in these public forums, but I can longer stay silent when I read the opinions of uninformed people who presume to be knowledgeable, but are merely perpetuating myths that reinforce the lies which are enslaving everyone.

  2. No due process equating to “civil asset forfeiture” that is a good one. What would one of our Magna Carta authors, Stephen Langton, think of these anti due process terms? He may just say constant vigilance is the only way to preserve due process.

    Mike, thanks for your vigilance.

  3. Michael,

Increased paranoia and aggressive psychological instability are symptoms of anabolic steroid overuse and/or addiction.

The FBI and DHS issued reports warning that this would happen, if the “steroid culture” got hold in law enforcement.

As far back as 2005, even 2002. Ever wonder why nobody drug tests a cop, or does an actual psych eval every year like they’ve always done?

    • Nick, I think there is some truth to what you say. I haven’t seen a sheriff lately that did not look like he could play pro football. Having said that I have the highest respect for our sheriff’s department.

  4. Interesting Film…How many SWAT guys to get just one bad guy and basically they knew…only one guy was in the House. Also,do you truly believe a Slightly overweight Older Policeman could run down an adrenaline charged young man…amazing propaganda not to mention the Strong “Military” flavor to the film…thanks for reading

  5. I can attest to the facts. Family have been police. The recruits are picked for their willingness to follow. Never leaders only followers, easily influenced types. Steroids, absolutely. These are mostly kids that were picked on in school and seek positions of authority and or people that want their egos stroked. I can also attest that citizens that defend cops are uneducated. It doesn’t take a genius to see what i say is correct. Cops are narsicist and extremely limited in their scopes of work. It is about command and conquer all day with everyone. Even children. If you think cops today are simply doing a tough job and deserve a break. You are wrong! They have been given directives which are vastly different than just a few short years ago. Pay attention. Cops are killing people with their hands up!!! Pay attention. Corruption now planned throughout America and Europe. There is a master plan behind police activity. Pay attention!!!

  9. Hello everyone. My first time here. I totally agree with the article and author. I have 3 retired sheriff’s deputies and 1 retired state trooper in my family who are ‘old school’ cops that would also agree. The attitudes today’s breed of cops have toward the public are simply the same attitude that FEDERAL law enforcement has had toward the public since their inception. There is no war against cops. There is a war against the people and the cops are used as a tool of oppression and terror against us. What has been called ‘civil asset forfeiture’ is nothing more than police theft of peoples’ hard-earned money, cars, homes, etc. with no legitimate basis whatsoever. Growing numbers of people have been given all kinds of reasons to never trust anyone with a badge or anyone with a law degree, especially someone with a ;aw degree who wears a black robe. Mr. Krieger, you may or may not already be aware of this, but law enforcement has no duty whatsoever to protect citizens and there are state and federal supreme court rulings that will verify what I’m saying. Police do not serve the public; they serve government. When I get into situations such an attempted home invasion or whatever, I am on my own and have to fend for myself. I have to be my own first responder. I don’t dial 911 ever. It’s totally counter-productive from where I stand. even the retired cops in my family have told me ‘never trust a cop’. they don’t even let their own kids or grandkids become cops. Now what does that tell you? The War On Drugs is a sham and a lost cause. all that asset forfeiture has done is increase corruption in law enforcement and the judicial system. Nobody takes anything from me ever and I don’t care what that person is wearing. Not a smart thing for anyone to do. What Mr. Krieger exposed is nothing new to me. I was already well aware of it. the militarization, asset forfeiture, the entire anti-public mentality of law enforcement is why my relatives left the profession. They refused to become like that and I’ve always praised them for that stand. Mr. Krieger, thank you for the article and take care.

    • A brilliant response: factual, accurate, and well thought-out, especially after reading the earlier comments by the clueless dolt who wrote in under the name of “Marlene.” If you ever get sucked into the legal system because of an entanglement with the cops, I guarantee you that you will be in for the ride of your life. Every belief that you had about right and wrong will be quickly dispelled as you are torn apart by a system that is rife with self-seeking political animals, known as judges, district attorneys, and lawyers. People who have been thrust into this situation will quickly find that the cops are pathological liars, masters at twisting anything out of context, and all the while being protected by the “system” for their misdeeds. “Never trust a cop.” You are so right.

  10. Samuel, thank you for your response. I hear stories all the time about the ‘system’ and personally know several people who have been victimized by it. The system has strayed so far away from what it was originally intended to be and been so riddled with corruption and evil. It’s too far gone to be saved so the only hope I see is to tear it down and start all over again from scratch. I live by a set of rules called the Bill Of Rights, NOT by any draconian policies. The system lost whatever legitimacy it had decades ago. Law enforcement has become totally useless and so has everyone with a law degree. I never thought I would say this but they make criminal elements on the streets look GOOD in comparison.

    • Good hearing from you. Since a powerful elite profits from the current state of affairs within the legal system, no reform is possible. A corresponding collapse of the system is about the only mechanism of reform, and as we know, this could get very ugly. Please extend my regards to your relatives who served in law enforcement, and thank them on my behalf for their honest insights and advice.
