Conversations with Everyday Americans – Hillary Launches $2,700 per Person “Grassroots” Fundraiser in Boston

If you want to see how completely disconnected Hillary Clinton is from the “everyday Americans” she claims to represent, you need to look no further than her recent campaign invitation to a Boston fundraiser where attendees are asked to shell out $2,700 per person for a “ticket.”

It was only just yesterday that I highlighted a recent Federal Reserve study that showed that 47% of Americans couldn’t handle an unexpected expense of $400. In the post, Use of Alternative Financial Services, Such as Payday Loans, Continues to Increase Despite the “Recovery,” we learned that:

The most frightening finding in the Federal Reserve’s Report on the Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households in 2014 concerns a matter of $400. Four-hundred bucks. Twenty twenties. Four Benjamins.

Or just enough to crush half of all American households.

“Forty-seven percent of respondents say they either could not cover an emergency expense costing $400, or would cover it by selling something or borrowing money,” reads this year’s annual report.

As such, I think it might be useful for the Clinton campaign to define the term “grassroots,” as it clearly doesn’t include at least half of the American population.

The Intercept posted an image of the invite. This is what it looks like:

Of course, this isn’t the first time Hillary’s purported “engagement” with ordinary Americans has been shown to be a total farce. Recall the April post, All Hail Hillary – Iowa Students Locked in Classrooms as Clinton Arrives at College to Visit “Everyday Iowans,” where we learned:

Monticello, Ia. – Students at the community college where Hillary Clinton spoke Tuesday told reporters they were locked in their classrooms as the Democratic presidential candidate arrived.

Secret Service did lock down the main hallway as Clinton entered at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, and students in classrooms along that hall were asked not to go into the hall as she was walking in. But they could be escorted to use the bathrooms or to other parts of the building, organizers said.

Are you ready?

  1. Why is the sociopath not behind bars – it’s like she’s Mafia or something?

[Opps, my sincere apologies to wise guys everywhere. I meant no disrespect. You have a code of honor and don’t harm innocent bystanders…]

  2. Hillary, you have to be kidding me. You can’t even address the dual responsibility issues related to your husbands administration’s contribution to the last sixty plus years of the taxpayer funded abusive application of the state secrets privilege and related doctrine, act, executive order, regulation and related policy abuses. How in the world can you expect anyone to pay to hear you talk. Tell me what Mike has written is not true. I can’t believe it.
