Poor Jeb Bush – Poll Numbers Plunge in Home State of Florida and Remain Dismal in Ohio and Pennsylvania

While Hillary Clinton is undoubtably an authoritarian, crony fraud, she can at least say she’s got hapless Democrat party lemmings firmly behind her. Not so for Jeb Bush, a candidate so bad only an oligarch could love him.

What’s been so amusing about his campaign thus far, is the lengths to which big money Republican donors have gone to try to manufacture support and create a likable candidate out of someone with zero grassroots support. The best example of this came about a month ago, and was highlighted in the post, Jeb Bush Forced to Bus Supporters From Washington D.C. to CPAC as Attendees Walk Out On Him. Here’s an excerpt:

It sounds like Jeb Bush’s supporters are taking CPAC pretty seriously this year. Emails provided to Slate show that backers of the former Florida governor are busing supporters from downtown Washington D.C. to CPAC in National Harbor, Maryland, and organizing to get them day passes into the event.

One long-time CPAC insider said these organized efforts impressed him, and that he didn’t know of any other potential 2016 candidates busing backers in. Perhaps that’s because no other potential candidates are worried about the regular crowd turning against them—the Washington Times reports today that some CPAC attendees are planning “to stage an informal protest when he hits the stage.”

Unfortunately for Jeb, busing in supporters doesn’t translate into genuine support. This was recently on full display with the latest Quinnipiac University poll.

For example, Bloomberg reports that:

Three swing states are not exactly swinging in the right direction for former Florida governor Jeb Bush.

Bush had dropped eight points in little more than a month in his home state of Florida, a new Quinnipiac University poll finds. While the presumptive GOP frontrunner leads the new poll with 24 percent support from the 428 registered Republicans surveyed, putting him out front of his Republican rivals in the Sunshine State, that’s down from 32 percent of Florida voters who said they supported him for president on Feb. 4.

Despite the softening of support, 24 percent feels rock solid compared with Bush’s numbers in Ohio and Pennsylvania, where Bush just eight and nine percent support, respectively, the poll found.

“Bush has a lead over the field in his home state of Florida, but it’s not anywhere near insurmountable.  There is no clear leader in Pennsylvania and Gov. John Kasich, the native son, is ahead in Ohio,” Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac Poll, said in a statement.

While Bush continues to impress political observers with his moves in the fundraising arena, his poll numbers are not making him out to be the breakaway frontrunner. That distinction continues to be held by Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Moving along, big money supporters of Jeb are apparently so fearful of being discovered, some of them were caught sneaking in to a recent fundraiser for him in San Francisco. The Intercept notes that:

Venture capitalist Ron Conway attended a Jeb Bush fundraiser at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in San Francisco today, entering through the underground parking garage in an apparent bid to avoid reporters.

Bush’s campaign operation has taken steps to conceal the names of certain big-money donors. The names of donors to Bush’s Super PAC, Right to Rise, will not be revealed until June 15, according to a campaign spokesperson. And some donors’ identities could be a secret forever. In February, Bush’s Right to Rise also formed a 501(c)(4) issue advocacy wing, which, like a Super PAC, can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money — but unlike a Super PAC, never has to reveal donor names.

If there was ever 100% proof needed that big money is the only real player when it comes to choosing U.S. Presidential candidates, Jeb Bush’s candidacy proves it.

  1. “If voting made any difference it would be illegal”.

The next President has already been chosen. That person will be revealed at the appropriate time to the masses. Don’t waste your time and energy.

    • Actually, I don’t think so. Imho, the Dems and Repubs are both wh#ring themselves to the same Special Interests. The elites will play each Party against each other, then decide which Party is going to do them the most good. And thus we have the reason for the two Party system; it gives the elites leverage over each Party. In other words, one Party can’t get too cocky with the elites. The elites have choices. Everybody else is sh#t outta luck.

  2. I pray for the day when we see this crew charged, prosecuted, and put behind bars. An international tribunal for crimes against humanity would be a reasonable start.

  3. The Bushies are experts at manipulation of perception. Remember KKKarl Rove bussed-in democracy Jihadists during the Gore/Bush vote recount and managed to get it spun as a grassroots protest thereby shutting down the count, creating a fog where fraud could occur, and changing world history. This shit works esp well when you have near zero journalistic integrity as the norm.

  4. The political class could not care less what Jeb Bush’s poll numbers say. If they have chosen him to be the next President, that’s what will happen. In any REAL political system, Jeb Bush would have been thrown out of office a long time ago.
