Benjamin Netanyahu in 2002 – “If You Take Out Saddam, I Guarantee, It Will Have Enormous Positive Reverberations on the Region”

In 2002, Benjamin Netanyahu already harbored some extremely strong convictions on how to deal with both Iran and Iraq. Back then, his opinions on how to handle the particular challenges each presented were quite divergent. On the one hand, he suggested beaming “reruns of Melrose Place” into Tehran, as a way of inspiring a popular uprising. In contrast, he suggested such an approach could never work in Iraq, and instead advocated for his preferred solution:

Naturally, he believed that a violent overthrow of Saddam Hussein would be a great thing. Specifically predicting that:

If you take out Saddam’s Regime, I guarantee you, that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region.

Fast forward nearly thirteen years, and rather than recognizing that this man’s plan in Iraq only led to death, chaos, and the emergence of ISIS, Congress felt the need to ask him for advice once again. Since as we all know, being wrong in America doesn’t lead to consequences, it leads to promotions.

The UN was formed in 1945 and Israel in 1948. Despite all the bad news, I believe it is now time to rejoice!”

This one page sequel to Climategate marks the end of my research career and the end to seventy years (1945 – 2015) of totalitarian global science – intended to isolate mankind from the Creator, Destroyer and Sustainer of each atom, life and world in the solar system and the constantly changing climates of each of its planets.

  2. You’ve proven two very important points with this post:

    1) Psychopaths are to be found at the top of just about every government the world over. It’s their natural habitat; and,
    2) Jews are distinct from Zionists, as the Jew who shepherds this blog has pointed out the failings of a Zionist. May we try to keep that in mind as the collapse unfolds to avoid a lot of unnecessary blame-shifting?

    • Zionism is Jews making pilgrimage to Israel.
That is not failing, governments are failing.

    • The Israelis had being screaming of Iranians having an actual WMD since the 1980s without any evidence.

Netanyahu lied about his guarantee. The overthrow of Saddam Hussein had only brought endless chaos and ISIS.

Whats worse Biby lied to the American congress even though the majority of those in Congress are paid to support Israel.

If Iran was a threat to the Jewish people, the Iranians would have taken out the Jews while as they were the Persian Empire.

  3. Shhh! (WELL KNOWN SECRET) MI6, CIA, VAJA, Mossad ,Al Mukhabarat Al A’amah, PIC and SVR RF all know that:

    Iran Already Has the Bomb.

“Unreported by the mainstream media are warnings that Iran might already have the bomb by such experts as former Director of Central Intelligence R. James Woolsey; former Chairman of the National Intelligence Council Fritz Ermarth; President Reagan’s Science Advisor Dr. William R. Graham; former Director of the Defense Nuclear Agency Vice Admiral Robert Monroe; former Director of the Strategic Defense Initiative Ambassador Henry Cooper; and Israeli intelligence officers, the latter going public in the Israeli newspaper Maariv in September 2013.”

  5. Just so I fully understand your post, Mike. A comment made by a world leader thirteen years ago reflects the United States lack of foreign policy today. Really !! It was NOT his plan to end Husseins rule in Iraq. As I recall that was a decision made on a global level. As far as his speaking to Congress, if Obama can entertain and change policy for the Muslim Brotherhood I see no reason to exclude the leader of the Only true Republic in the Middle East from having a voice. Oops, your letting your German show through.

    • You must not be very bright. The clear point of the post was to point out the obvious truth that someone who could not have been more wrong about the “reverberations in the region” when it came to the overthrow of Saddam Hussein shouldn’t be listened to with regard to other nations in the region. This isn’t rocket science.

There’s no German to me. My last name was given to my Jewish grandfather went he came into Ellis Island because him native name was deemed too difficult to pronounce. Try again clown.

  6. 2 things stand out to me.

    1. the fact is that you somehow blame the creation of ISIS on overthrowing Sadam. like you say it was 13 years ago and ISIS has been a story for what? 1 year or so? Safe to say that the current admins mishandling of Egypt, Libya and Syria have much more to blame with the emergence of ISIS. Also, if you happened to be a Curd living in northern Iraq, I think you would have to say 100% that what Netanyahu said all those years ago was correct. I think its easy to look back now and not remember just how out of control Sadam was! The region was much better off with him gone. It is the empowering of the Muslim Brotherhood that has degraded the whole area now.

    2. I notice that of all the comments made, you chose not to reply to all the ones that were clearly anti-sematic. If you let people ‘support’ your blog by saying things like “Israel was formed on terrorism.” , “Psychopaths are to be found at the top of just about every government the world over. It’s their natural habitat” and “NUT & YAHOO:-(” and you don’t say anything about it you are condoning it.

overall, I cant see how you are surprised someone would make a comment of German affiliation when you use the term blitzkrieg in your blogs title. You may think its a cute play on your name but students of history will associate it with the wave of Nazi terror that swept Europe and helped bring on the Holocaust. Combine that with the dubious attack on the leader of Israel and letting anti-sematic comments stand unchallenged on you page makes you look like you are “letting your German show through.”

    • It continues to astound me how people so ignorant and clueless continue to spew nonsense in the comment section.

First of all, I have responded to real anti-semites who have commented on this site before in extremely lengthly responses pointing out the utter foolishness of blaming the world’s problems on jews, or any other group. The reason I didn’t respond to any anti-semetic comments on this post is because there weren’t any.

You take objection to a reader writing ” “Israel was formed on terrorism,” as if this was a false statement. Terrorism played a significant role in the period immediately before the creation of Israel in 1948. Either you have never heard of Lehi, or you are feining ignorance. Either way, let’s clear the record:

Lehi (Hebrew pronunciation: [ˈleχi]; Hebrew: לח”י – לוחמי חרות ישראל‎ Lohamei Herut Israel – Lehi, “Fighters for the Freedom of Israel – Lehi”), commonly referred to in English as the Stern Gang,[9][10][11][12] was a militant Zionist group founded by Avraham (“Yair”) Stern in the British Mandate of Palestine.[13][14] Its avowed aim was to evict the British authorities from Palestine by resort to force, allowing unrestricted immigration of Jews and the formation of a Jewish state, a ‘new totalitarian Hebrew republic’.[15] It was initially called the National Military Organization in Israel,[1] upon being founded in August 1940, but was renamed Lehi one month later.[16]

Lehi split from the Irgun militant group in 1940 in order to continue fighting the British during World War II. Lehi initially sought an alliance with Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany, offering to fight alongside them against the British in return for the transfer of all Jews from Nazi-occupied Europe to Palestine.[2] Believing that Nazi Germany was a lesser enemy of the Jews than Britain, Lehi twice attempted to form an alliance with the Nazis.[2] During World War II it declared that it would establish a Jewish state based upon “nationalist and totalitarian principles”.[2][17] After Stern’s death in 1942, the new leadership of Lehi began to move it towards support for Joseph Stalin’s Soviet Union.[1] In 1944 Lehi officially declared its support for National Bolshevism.[6] It said that its National Bolshevism involved an amalgamation of left-wing and right-wing political elements – Stern said Lehi incorporated elements of both the left and the right[2] – however this change was unpopular and Lehi began to lose support as a result.[18]

Lehi and the Irgun were jointly responsible for the massacre in Deir Yassin. Lehi assassinated Lord Moyne, British Minister Resident in the Middle East, and made many other attacks on the British in Palestine.[19] On 29 May 1948, the government of Israel, having inducted its activist members into the Tzahal, formally disbanded Lehi, though some of its members carried out one more terrorist act, the assassination of Folke Bernadotte some months later,[20] an act condemned by Bernadotte’s replacement as mediator, Ralph Bunche.[21] Israel granted a general amnesty to Lehi members on 14 February 1949. In 1980, Israel instituted a military decoration in “award for activity in the struggle for the establishment of Israel,” the Lehi ribbon.[22] Former Lehi leader Yitzhak Shamir became Prime Minister of Israel in 1983.

      That’s just an appetizer:

      Lehi had three main goals:

To bring together all those interested in liberation (that is, those willing to join in active fighting against the British).
To appear before the world as the only active Jewish military organization.
To take over Eretz Yisrael (the Land of Israel) by armed force.[25]
Lehi believed in its early years that its goals would be achieved by finding a strong international ally that would expel the British from Palestine, in return for Jewish military help; this would require the creation of a broad and organised military force “demonstrating its desire for freedom through military operations.”[26]

Lehi also referred to themselves as ‘terrorists’ and may have been one of the last organizations to do so.[27]

An article titled “Terror” in the Lehi underground newspaper He Khazit (The Front ) argued as follows:

Neither Jewish ethics nor Jewish tradition can disqualify terrorism as a means of combat. We are very far from having any moral qualms as far as our national war goes. We have before us the command of the Torah, whose morality surpasses that of any other body of laws in the world: “Ye shall blot them out to the last man.” But first and foremost, terrorism is for us a part of the political battle being conducted under the present circumstances, and it has a great part to play: speaking in a clear voice to the whole world, as well as to our wretched brethren outside this land, it proclaims our war against the occupier. We are particularly far from this sort of hesitation in regard to an enemy whose moral perversion is admitted by all.[28]

The article described the goals of terror:

It demonstrates … against the true terrorist who hides behind his piles of papers and the laws he has legislated.
It is not directed against people, it is directed against representatives. Therefore it is effective.
If it also shakes the Yishuv from their complacency, good and well.[28]

Let’s move on to your second objection, apparently to the line: “Psychopaths are to be found at the top of just about every government the world over. It’s their natural habitat.” Not only would history prove this to be the case, but I have thousands of articles on this site proving it to be the case today. Only a fraud, troll, or statist groupie would deny this. It’s certainly not anti-semetic.

Finally, I generally respond to comments when people make stuff up, or spout incredible nonsense, such as what you did. Of course I am not going to allow some dimwit who knows nothing about me to invent a story about my German heritage, when in fact I have none. In contrast my father and all his ancestry were Jewish.

      Go back to sleep.
