There are many systemic reasons why America continues to circle the toilet bowl toward a full fledged oligarchic Banana Republic. I’ve spent the last couple of years highlighting many of them here on these pages. Nevertheless, all of them pale in comparison with the disappearance of the rule of law. When the rule of law ceases to apply to the rich and powerful, a society ends up suffocating within a culture of theft, an endless stream of cronyism and criminality.
At such a stage, politicians, Wall Street oligarchs, the military-industrial complex, police departments, government agencies, etc, all go hog wild with corruption. The IRS is a perfect example.
With the failure to hold Lois Lerner accountable for anything, the agency is now even more out of control than it was before. Recently, we heard about a plan to tax companies that provide free lunches to employees. Now it appears they are back to targeting people with whom they disagree politically.

The producer of an anti-Obamacare movie announced Tuesday he’s the latest conservative hit with an Internal Revenue Service audit, the Washington Times reports.
Logan Clements, who produced the movie “Sick and Sicker: ObamaCare Canadian Style,” said this is the first time he’s attracted IRS attention.
“I had never been audited before I made this movie,” Clements said, arguing that the chances of him being chosen for an audit are incredibly small. “There seems to be a pattern here.”
In attempt to fight back, Clements will try to release the film early, ahead of the midterm elections. Here he is in his own words:

I will put aside all the facts regarding the IRS audit and all the valid reasons to criticize Obamacare (basically written as a gift to the big insurances companies). I have only seen the trailer, but if this guy is trying to discredit Obamacare by attacking the Canadian health care system, I have to call BULLSHIT! I’ve lived in the U.S. and Canada. For the average person, the Canadian system is one of the best in the world.
I will only speak about myself as an example. I had paid into the Canadian health case system for years through taxes and never used it except one broken arm skiing. Then at the age of 64 and out of work, tightness in the chest led to a stress test, then an angiogram. The result showed severe heart blockage. Within a day I had a tripe coronary bypass operation. It saved my life. All decisions as to medical treatment were all decided by doctors. Not government bureaucrat was involved in any way. All expenses were covered by the system. Don’t let clowns like this guy feed you propaganda and bullshit. Americans shouldn’t Obanacare. They should have a universal, single payer health care system like Canada’s
