Video of the Day – This is What Happens When You Try to Exercise Your Constitutional Rights in Illinois

Screen Shot 2014-09-22 at 10.59.13 AMWhat follows is the most powerful recorded police checkpoint scene I have witnessed since posting: Extremely Powerful Video – Happy 4th of July from a Police State Checkpoint, last summer.

While the former incident happened in Tennessee, the following occurred in Illinois. The American pleb who was accosted by Illinois State Police was DeKalb resident Ryan Scott. While it starts off slow, make sure you watch it all the way to the end. While one of the the police officers is reasonable, the other one can’t stop yelling and seems to derive a particular pleasure from repeatedly informing the citizen he supposed to “protect and serve” that “driving is not a right, it’s a privilege.” See for yourself:

What’s also interesting, is you have to wonder if the second officer would have acted even more aggressively if Ryan hadn’t informed him he was being recorded at the end of the conversation. He seems to have backed down slightly upon understanding the repercussions of the recording. It just goes to show the importance of filming police encounters.

  1. Notice how quickly the 2nd “officer” jumped into rage, showing his true colors. Because they have the badge, they assume we should all just submit,
roll over, what a power play! He also seemed to hold the flashlight like a weapon.
I wonder what this pig might have done, were it not for the fact that he was being videotaped. He obviously thinks the sheep should just roll over and
submit to being harassed at random check points.
I wonder if any, any, people working in law enforcement are questioning the increased violence and militarization of police departments.
Or are they all simply in love with bullying so much, they chose it for a profession?
Thanks to this brave man who demonstrated that we do not have to put up with bullying po-po who think they can run roughshod over an unsuspecting populace.
Too bad we now reside in a nation, wherein our government “justice” system allows banksters and other elite criminals to continuously rip off the public, yet seems to enjoy harassing ordinary citizens, and pick them for every single cent they can squeeze through fines, violations, permits, licenses, fees and taxes.

  2. the obvious answer is we should “exchange information”, so the officer and I
can visit each other at each other’s home addresses. That would solve their
desire to spontaneously make contact with the public……………………

  3. If you are the SURETY (the HOLDER not OWNER) of the States (CORPORATE owner of your SOVEREIGN rights) ‘SURNAME’ and ‘GIVEN NAMES’ (via the Birth Certificate) and then operate through the states ‘PERSON’ (its their Legal Person and Property). Make no mistake the STATE CREATED IT and OWN IT!.. ‘YOU’ have been tricked into believing that it is yours) and then if you identify that the States Owned Drivers licence (Which is NOT your identity) is ‘My Drivers Licence’ as Ol’ mate repeated several times… it is dangerous to dabble in the ‘freeman’ games. Sadly this entire system (SAINT SIMONISIM) is setup up to gain LEGAL JURISDICTION over YOU! (your SURety for their property) and They (The State) do have the right to kill the Man/Woman that is being a ‘a bad CITIZEN’, ‘a bad TRUSTEE’ (A bad ‘SURETY’) for their property ie. The State ID. My advice is turn off the TV, get some legal dictionaries and start reading . My two cents worth.!

  4. whatever……this is a joke. the kind of bullshit that’s beeing going on forever. i don’t see how this is a big deal. on a relative basis. this is just an example of somethign that is not that bad. the general issue here is of systemic abuse. not ‘one off’ problems of abusive asshole state highway cops .

the problem is not them being jerks. you are playing to your dissident audiences reflexes. the problem is the systemic legal changes allowing dhs authority 100 miles from a border to stop anyone and everyone. centralization of federal action on state highways.

this video is kind of annoying when you put it out there as , oh man…look a kind of aggressive state highway cop doing a road check.

yea, we don’t have as much freedom as we should ont he roads and streets.

here’s a more pressing issue. why is auto insurance mandatory everywhere, and motorcycle insurance almost everywhere. only in a few states are you allowed to post a bond for motorcycle insurance.

i posit that americans should be allowed to post bonds for their right to travel on the roads, rather than mandatory insurance.

the insurance industry is a raquet. posting a bond is not only far cheaper to the insured, but the state has less of an interest in screwing with the bond as it could easily be legislated to remain in cash bearing zero interest with zero risk. and ZERO management fees. no monthly payments, no ‘up to date’ harrasment on your policies. no federal regulatory oversite of insurance companies. no mergers and aquisitions.

insurance costs have gotten out of control for cars. time for people to change the laws to allow bond posting. take that up as a cause instead of positing a one-off annoying video like this.

this is the kind of video you see occupiers tout around to rouse the mob. it’s not a solution. it’s a questionable agitation.

  5. Although I agree most with Teslark, I have to point out that everyone is missing the bigger issue here. 1. The cop was right: driving is a privilege bestowed upon the subjects by their masters; 2. Most things: the air waves, the air itself and space above your head, the roads, sidewalks, etc. basically are controlled by various (mostly Federal) governments who act as if they truly own everything; 3. the money that you have is owned and controlled by the guys who made it up out of nothing and assert permanent ownership rights via making its issuance a debt, owed back with interest; 4. the government(s) mostly local assert dominion over your home and car, and can assert THEIR “rights” to your temporary property if you dont pay them yearly for the privilege of actual possession.
This is an important point because America was NOT like this, and in fact advanced greatly when we had real money (gold and silver, later, paper notes corresponding to gold backing) and real dominion over our lives. Now that the world is shifting from exponential growth to stationary culture, we need to see the real situation and replace our lords with something closer to what we had. A radical change is underfoot. Where are the Bob Dylan folk songs, the protest marches etc. I think that they are coming, but the pampered out of touch North American may be the last to get out of his keyboard or easy chair. This really is a ridiculous and misleading video, which only at best diverts the inquisitive mind from seeing the real problem and merely adds to the circus half of our “bread and circuses” national diversion, which suits the lords/government masters just fine.

  6. Sadly, I think this video aptly represents the character of amercan law enforcement officers. About a half are guys just doing their job. About half are borderline nuts a55holes who get off on the authority, or the authority they think they have, in their position.

  7. trained to intimidate and control….with tax payer funds….he is wrong on his statement of ” driving is a privilege and not a right” …the RIGHT to travel has been very well documented all over this once free nation….the leo has not been trained on anything but…intimidation and control…and the use of force ….imho

  10. Even though the officer’s behavior was unacceptable, it seems to me that the driver of the car Ryan Scott intentionally escalated this situation hoping to provoke just such a response. Police stops for safety checks are perfectly legal, I believe.
