In May, I highlighted an excellent interview of Glenn Greenwald by GQ Magazine in the piece: Glenn Greenwald on the 2016 Elections – “They’ll Probably Have a Gay Person After Hillary.” There’s so much good stuff in that piece, I strongly suggest you go back and read it if you haven’t, but the relevant part to today’s post is the following exchange:
GQ: How much more is there to release—and what burden do you feel to get it out there?
Greenwald: We published the first article [about the NSA collecting Verizon phone records] while I was in Hong Kong last June and won’t stop until we’re done. I think we will end the big stories in about three months or so [June or July 2014]. I like to think of it as a fireworks show: You want to save your best for last. There’s a story that from the beginning I thought would be our biggest, and I’m saving that. The last one is the one where the sky is all covered in spectacular multicolored hues. This will be the finale, a big missing piece. Snowden knows about it and is excited about it.
So it seems that as Greenwald on the verge of publishing the story, the U.S. government has decided to intervene. Greenwald’s latest Tweet cryptically describes the situation:
After 3 months working on our story, USG today suddenly began making new last-minute claims which we intend to investigate before publishing

mike, i watched that whole interview. greenwalds open criticism of his ‘own’ gay–identity politciking from the political correctness police is much appreciated.
but i wonder, by partnering with pierre omidyar, who allegedly supported u.s. interests in egypt, if he is not joining up into a co-opted compartmentalized game trap by joining pierre’s new ‘media company’.
think about this even if these rumors regarding pierre are false, pierre is a billionaire. made by silicon valley ebay money , that is—wall street public market IPO money.
can a man from that background be something more than a trap for greenwald?
pierre has iranian background, and almost all succesful iranians in the u.s. are part of the military wall street machine here because of their , more or less, necessary juxtaposition to the regime in their homeland.
only by forefully cutting of their former identity as iranians can they even claim a dis-disinterestedness in their former homeland.
the u.s. cultivates its persian base very carefully for purposes of spycraft and of generating a continued ‘government’ in waiting should the u.s. ever achieve its aims of unseating the ayatollahs.

it’s a complex game here. some things perhaps can be taken at face value. but there’s a lot of compartmentalized lies going on here….
