CNN Claims “Americans Want Security Over Freedom”

Wow, this is straight up insane propaganda at the highest level. He is not even trying to hide the message. CNN’s Jake Tapper just comes out and says it:

I think the American people, honestly, want security over freedom.
– Jake Tapper

Compare that to let’s say, Benjamin Franklin:

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.
– Benjamin Franklin

That right there demonstrates perfectly how far we have fallen culturally.

  1. Watching any tv, at all, even for five minutes, constitutes a small surrender of one’s freedom. Honestly, I do not understand why anybody ever watches that crap, its insulting, degrading, boring, unsettling. I would not watch one, or own one, even if they offered to pay me…..

    • Yeah, I could not agree with you more. I literally feel like my mind, my values and even a little of my soul have been violated for having watched this. TV is mind control in the worst way. There’s a reason the call it “regularly scheduled programming”.

    • Is there anyone actually GOING AFTER that smirking bastard and calling him to task on what he said? Just not watching TV isn’t enough, because for every one of us awake enough to purposely shun this kind of shit-spew, there are 10 sitting there on their couches nodding their heads and popping another Bud lite. The idiocracy is still alive and breathing and they are the intended audience of this slime.

  2. This is a glaring example of why I can’t even watch MSM anymore, not even to “monitor” what’s being said. It’s like a propaganda circus nightmare. How can someone seriously make the statement: “I think the American People want security over freedom” and keep a straight face?! THAT is the statement of a domestic enemy bent on aiding and abetting authoritarianism.

Also, if I here “strike the right balance” on more time. I’m going to pull the rest of my hair out and set it on fire. These people are COMPLETELY out of touch with “the people” and they do not give a rat’s rear end about us. Heck, they don’t even need us anymore. They can just have their crony Fed buddies print money at will and give it to their corporate and Wall St. scam artist. Woe to you who are a part of this machine of lies!

It’s like Will Ferrell said to the counterfeit “Santa Claus” in “Elf”, “you sit on a throne of lies”. Except, unlike in the movie, this is NOT funny.

Keep trying to wake up your dumbed-down, zombified, flouridated, NFL worshipping friends while there’s still time!

    Long live the Republic!

  3. Forgetting Tapper’s probable support for these NSA programs for a moment, he still may be right. We’ve still got a massive population that is used to wanting what it is told it wants. It is told it wants Ipads, it wants cell phones, more TVs, etc. Advertising becomes the reality so imperceptibly that we associate it with real demand. There seems to be very little internal questioning of people’s everyday wants and desires. They never ask what gives their lives value deep down.

Looking at the polls, you can get 30 percent of the people to say yes to literally anything, including indefinite detention without trial, a lawyer, family notification or subject them to torture overseas simply because the government wants to. If the question is “when will the people say enough is enough” the answer is clearly never.

I see this as primarily being a spiritual problem for the masses as a whole, not merely a political one for us. Normally, we would see a backlash to this extreme behavior, but for the first time in human history, it may not happen, primarily because of the effectiveness of passifying technologies — TV being the biggest one.

Barring some kind of societal collapse (the chances are not zero) I suspect the descent will continue for a long time to come. The developing tech would seem to indicate this is the case.

    • “Advertising becomes the reality so imperceptibly that we associate it with real demand.” Precisely, Sean. For years, I have been warning friends, family and colleagues to avoid being persuaded by advertisers. This is the greater propaganda that has been unfolding in the USA. Take a quick look around: billboards on highways, banner ads on the websites, video ads on YouTube, the small banners at the foot of whichever TV program you watch, advertising the same show you are already watching… It has become ridiculous. The biggest propagandists are these corporations peddling more material junk we do not need Societal collapse would be a welcome change so that we may have a reset and start fresh!!

  4. The sad part is as long as their is a boogieman whether it be; terrorism, communism/socialism, “illegal” immigration, drugs, etc the state will call upon their propaganda machines to ratch up the fear to justify the growth of the state.

  6. Although myself and an irate minority would choose freedom over (false) security I actually believe this anchors statement to be fairly accurate and in my own little opinion the fact that the average American I believe would choose a fema camp over self responsible freedom is in fact for me one of the most concerning things about the “new normal” reality.
